"Tallahassee Lassie" is a song written by Bob Crewe, Frank Slay, and Frederick Picariello and performed by Freddy Cannon (Picariello's stage name). The song was featured on his 1960 album The Explosive! Freddy Cannon. The song was produced and arranged by Bob Crewe and Frank Slay.
It reached #6 on the U.S. pop chart, #13 on the U.S. R&B chart, and #17 on UK Singles Chart in 1959. The song was ranked #40 on Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1959. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA.

“down in F-L-A” 🎵🎶 Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon. Great song. Sounds and looks great! (Even though *Boom Boom* seems pretty geeky singing his song.) My favorite by Cannon was *Palisades Park* (complete with roller coaster sound effects) written by Chuck Barris - later to host TV’s _Gong Show_ - who claimed in his autobiography - later to be made into a movie, _Confessions of a Dangerous Mind_ - he had (improbably) been a spy and an assassin for the CIA. The endless connections of pop music trivia! 🧨

Well, she's rompin' to the drag, The cha-cha, rag-a-mop, Stompin' to the shag, woo, Rocks the bunny hop…….Well, she dances to the bop, She dances to the stroll, She dances to the walk, woo…She can rock 'n' roll!! I love how he names all those old dances. I was too young to dance those moves so I’d sit on the sideline and watch my two big sisters cut a rug…. How I envied them! Thank you for the memories. 💕✨💖✨
