As interesting as a Team Rocket set in the modern era would be, I wonder if there's a chance that this is just a Team Rocket themed product like the 20th anniversary Team Rocket Special Case. Either way I think this is bound to be a cool product, though let's hope that the Gen 1 hype doesn't cause issues like it has in the past... Which let's be real, it definetly will.

About the validity of trademarks: Remember when you covered Jet-Black Poltergeist and Silver Lance? Around the time where we only knew about Calyrex, dataminers found in-game code for a title screen “The Bond Between Sovereign and Steed,”and data for “Hakuba and Kokuba” (White Horse and Black Horse) who could fuse with Kuraun (ruler, aka Calyrex). Those set names not only revealed the set, but the types of the Royal Steeds. So yes. I trust these trademarks.

This is what Pokemon does instead of the Yugioh pathway of just reprinting entire sets 1 to 1. Which I would be floored by if they ever decided to do that. If you want to prey on my nostalgia, do 1 to 1 reprints of classic sets from the WOTC era. Could you imagine a proper reprint of Aquapolis? Skyridge? Jungle? Fossil? A true base set? Evolutions was cool and all. But it wasn't a full on 1 to 1. I'm talking down to the booster box and pack arts

As cool as Team Rocket returning is, I'm tired of the special sets always being about Gen 1. 151 and then Team Rocket? Really? Can't we get a Starter Pokémon set, or a Legendary Pokémon set? How about a set that is all about the most popular Pokémon from all generations? Or a set all about the early route Pokémon over the years. Or one based on regional forms and new evolutions. There are so many cool special sets that could be done, and yes, Team Rocket is cool to see... But it's always about Gen 1. Heck, they could have made this a set about Rainbow Rocket, and had Pokémon that are associated with all evil teams. You could have had Rocket's Mewtwo, Magma's mega Camerupt, Aqua's Mega Sharpedo, Galactic's Giratina, N's Zoroark, Plasma's Kyurem etc. That would have been way cooler.

Everyone is going to like what they like. To me, 151 was little different from Celebrations, and it didn’t take much for me to have had enough of both. Alternatively, I opened a case of evolving skies and it wasn’t close to enough.

Team Rocket is my absolute favourite set of all time, to the point my wife got me a booster for my wedding present the other week. I just hope this is a new Team Rocket set, maybe even involving Gen 2, rather than any other crap product nobody cares about. I wouldn't even mind if it's just the OG TR set but reprinted with new art.

I am genuinely getting more and more annoyed and frankly absolutely mad at the fact that they've pandered to gen1 more than ever before and I really hope they stop. I'm not saying I don't love geen1, but I don't love them more than any other gen but honestly none of my favorite pokemon are in gen1, I am just indifferent to them. I love them like I would do any other pokemon. And I'm not alone on this. They do give love to all the other gens but sometimes it honestly feels that gen1 is all they do. Especially when it comes to merchandise and collaborations. If it's not gen1 entirely there has to be some big gen1 mon there regardless. I'm just wondering when all those nostalgic genwunners would just disappear and stop influencing pokemon's decisions
