This is the new reality but I was looking at my 1984 atmospheric science text book and it’s all right there from the preface on. The real problem is capitalism and politics. The science has been here for decades. But the thing about science is it prevails in the long run. So I guess we sadly have to burn it all down first to get any action. We’ll see…

Our industrial civilization is based on rampant CO2 emissions, which fuel and sustain our modern economies. We continue to treat the atmosphere as a garbage dumpster for our carbon waste. At some point, global agriculture won't be able to sustain 8.2 billion people living on an overheated planet. Because the enzymes that regulate photosynthesis break down significantly in a few hours of heat stress. This is already forcing food prices higher, and it's only going to get worse.

And fire can travel underground along root systems. It occurred close to where I live after a property owner was attempting to remove a stump using fire. According to the fire chief with whom I spoke, the property owner believe he had extinguished the fire, and more than a week later it re-ignited brush, grass, and trees a short distance from the stump burn.

How climate change causes the INSANE speed of the winds: Santa Ana winds (SAW) are caused by: High pressure zone over The Great Basin (most of Nevada, some Calif., Utah +) -- dry, hot to warm temps from that land; high pressure zone pushes and very warm, dry air is forced to flow up the San Gabriel Mtns., flowing westward. All DRY. Not even ⅕" of rain over Los Angeles -- all is kindling, lush overgrowth from excessive winter rains BEFORE, dries out, no more rain. Hydro-climate whiplash. Then, there is the LOW PRESSURE ZONE over the Pacific Ocean, pushing cool, moist air EASTWARD -- The DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE pressure zones -- higher than before, lower than before -- is the driving force behind HOW FAST the Santa Ana winds are -- these were up to 100 mph! That huge disparity, high pressure to low pressure, causes the high winds. Climate change caused. Extra wet winter, the year before caused lush growth (EXACTLY LIKE FLORIDA, Magas!), which, then, the next year, when it didn't rain, EVERYTHING DRIES OUT 👉 Voila! LOTS OF DRY kindling!!

Fireworks are like "the other F word". They are awe-inspiring and fun, but at what cost? They terrify wildlife...many animals flee their dens and nests, becoming disoriented, leaving babies to starve, dehydrate, or be predated upon; they can frighten some animals to death; wildlife rehab centres report animals panicking and becoming entangled in fencing, flying into trees/windows/buildings, running onto the road and being struck; vets and shelters report spikes in companion animals lost/injured, desperate to escape the blasts; frantic and terrorized, farmed animals attempt to flee barns, stables, and fencing; zoo animals exhibit great agitation, pacing, trembling, running around their enclosures; there is evidence that noise stress on the tiny bodies and still-forming brains of neonatal babies can cause death in premature infants; vulnerable humans with Autism Spectrum Disorder, veterans and others with PTSD, people from war-torn countries can experience great trauma; and our planet's ecosystems suffer with the debris from this exploding garbage littering the forest floor and waterways and being consumed by birds, small mammals, and marine animals; particle pollution from harmful toxins being spewed in the air can last several days; and as Belinda said, there is increased risk of wildfires. There are modern, safer, cooler options like "quiet" fireworks, laser shows, and drones...with accompanying music.

A buried or "concealed" remnants of an extinguished fire put out a week earlier, restarting itself a week later sounded crazy to me as well. But when I asked a retired fireman that I know if such a thing is possible, he absolutely assured me that not only is it possible, but when exposed to the right conditions, some hidden embers- if not discovered, will relight. "How do you think wildfires can start up in remote locations, without any human influence? Winds, dry conditions, lots of fuel available, and embers, left over from a previous fire,- dormant- but not dead. It isn't just lightning strikes." Makes sense.

@erinburke971113 күн бұрын
The paper has 2 more graphs, but all together they don't show what's claimed in the video. They're just comparing Santa Ana related and non-SA fires. She mixed these graphs up with a nearby table which shows an increasing incidence of fires over time. Or she's being dishonest.

Of that potential epicenter site discussed, from what she was expressing of that new year’s day-eve party’s bonfire, if them peeps were tossing in such items like TIRES or chunks of railroad ties, packed with creosote, yeah, crap like that very much can smolder for several days. And just as she was explaining, such smoldering, could easily be confined deep inside the burnt materials of that bonfire, even if the external surface areas had already been extinguished. Had we NOT gotten any or, as severe “SAW” event, such hotspots would’ve eventually petered out. For anyone who has blacksmith / forging knowledge &/or experience, think of the fire in the forge, how many times multiplied the heat and fire can be increased rapidly, by the induced blower air when activated/cranked. Another thing to consider with the theory she discuses, is the rocks or whatever, that this bonfire was setup over.. a long sustained hotspot could’ve been formed in wherever was the hottest point of that STUPID bonfire, remaining very hot, for days on in

We got a blizzard in the 80s up here in New York City and a few years ago we got a foot and a half deep snowstorm. In the past few years, we haven’t had one foot deep snow. I believe it’s because of the climate change.
