I picked this up to use with my PS5. Currently using it with my first gen Xbox One (which doens't support 1440 or higher frames). I have been playing on HDR mode, very impressed with how it looks seeing its not 100% supported due to the console age. Excited to see what it will look like with the PS5.

Thanks for the video. I do disagree about this monitor for next gen consoles. This monitor accepts a 4K signal and outputs 1440p at 60 Hz for Ps5, but also allows for supported games like Cold War to run 1080p at 120Hz. The version without usb goes for $350 on amazon. Future HDMI 2.1 monitors that can run 4K at 120 Hz will likely cost around $1000. I feel it provides good value and flexibility for next gen consoles.

When I bought LG 32GP850 it was nearly perfect out of box but gamma was slightly incorrect which was a bit low which mean gamma shift toward more lighter side. So the i1 Display Pro correct it to 2.2 instead of below 2.2 to restore gamma to where it should have been and the black got better. I know it has IPS glow which is annoying but I get used to it. I set brightness to 29 to match with 160cd/m2 and it looks better than at default of nearly 400 cd/m2 which is too high for my eyes and is not comfortable like glaring that makes me wear sunny. lol! Although I am not too happy with black stabilizer in gaming, not as good as Samsung for eg especially dark game like Minecraft. When I tune to 60 in black stabiliser, it looks more like hazy. So it puzzled me.

I have had the same issue. It is mainly because the xbox does not use the same color parameters for 1440p as 4K and 1080p. Sometimes changing the color settings from RGB to PC in the xbox video settings will help. But ultimately, it depends on the game and how well a monitor can be calibrated.

@ryans4133 жыл бұрын
That’s true about overdoing the settings same thing applies to TV sets. Just because the setting slider can go to max doesn’t mean it’s right for your viewing. Gotta factor in lighting if you game in an area that always bright and sunny you want to turn those settings up so your screen is bright or else it’ll be washed out. If you game in your mothers basement where it’s mostly dim and dark turn down the settings your eyes will actually thank you but the screen will be bright enough already. Colour is big a natural image that looks good should be slightly washed out so dial back the colour until it’s looking washed out and then boost it up a couple notches me personally like little pop. But too much is unrealistic. Sharpness good god do not turn it up it ruins the image so much brightness and contrast a good one for brightness is turn off all the advanced settings and find an image completely black now it’s good to do this in a dark room with no other lights on. Turn up the brightness until the black image starts too look grey and washed out then dial it back just until the image goes back to being black. The trick is you don’t wanna turn it down too much or you’ll have a dark image brights will not be bright and dark scenes will be too hard to see. Contrast is the opposite but find an image with clouds in the sky against a white background. Trick here is to still see those white cloud against the white background if the clouds disappear into the white background dial it back until it just pops back into view. All the other features just enhance the image in different ways but the main ones I touched on are the most important works for TV sets and monitors

Hello TechCessory, I have a PS5 and the same monitor as you. I am trying to find out the best settings for Warzone. 1st question is which Game Mode to you start off with? I use personally FPS. But in that mode, the adaptive-sync is set to on. Black Stabilizer is adjustable. But when it comes to the Picture adjustment only 2 are available (Brightness and Contrast) all the others are not available. Any tips would be great. And how did you change the fonts on the interface? I use a Mac for work.
@BainCustom3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the comment. As far as the font goes...I am not sure why mine would be different, it could be a different firmware or something. I typically start on the Gamer 1 custom preset. That setting allows the customization of all of the settings and saves my settings to that preset. Gamer 2 does the same thing.

I think the factory presets are not customizable because they want the preset to be maintained whenever you select it.

Thank you! We (fiancee and I) picked up both the Xbox Series X and PS5 *physical. We're using our Series 8 Samsung UHD's until they need to be replaced (we have two 55 inch curved displays). They're excellent displays that I picked up for the Xbox One X and PSPRO for back in early 2019. Now, I have a question...what about those of us that play everything? We (fiancee and I) love just about every genre you can think of across all platforms. I even like playing retro games on these screens (sometimes, we have two CRT's as well) as they support almost every legacy type connector you can think of. These damn screens can take RF, AV, Component, Composite, Full RGB Support, and HDMI NTSC (I haven't tried anything with a PAL signal). What's crazy is they display older games without stretching them out and it makes colors on consoles like the Neo Geo AES pop like a fireworks display. Addendum- This video was both interesting and very helpful. Upvoted, subbed, and I'm currently sharing with my friends. Many of them had the opportunity to pick up at least one of the new consoles as well. We all got the opportunity to wait in physical lines during the preorder phase and pick them up directly from the store (several different GameStop's). We actually started out as one big group and broke up as most GameStops in our area only had 8 to 12 machines per preorder phase per store. Many of my friends that bought one (or both) work with me. So on November 10th and the 12th we all took shifts going on break to pick up our consoles.

Hey you rock! Thanks you so much for subscribing and spreading the channel. That means a lot and is much appreciate over here! As far as the question...first off you have a collection! CRT TV's and Series 8's (from the good years) and waiting in line for consoles! Hard core man. But the only thing I can imagine that would simplify that for you might be an AVR. Adding that in so you can get all of your legacy consoles and media into a new TV would be good. It will convert the signal for sure, but would simplify the operation. I checked and Denon offers composite conversion on some of their higher end stuff, it's not cheap. But it would work. The challenge will be is they currently support full HDMI 2.1 for the new consoles. I am not sure if that was fixed yet.

Are you using hdmi or dp? I know that's a dumb questions, but I have to ask. I am sure you have tried a lot of calibrating, but making sure the pixel response and frame rate are set to match the GPU & Monitor is important. is Gsync on or off? My concern would be that if this is a 10-bit with dithering panel, while active using HDR you could see a flicker if the frames start to drop. It may not be noticeable at higher frames. This can be reasonably fixed with a proper tune to the gpu and monitor (different for each setup). Just to note, be sure HDR is on in windows, no background apps are up while gaming and all drivers are up to date. Don't use the HDR preset on the monitor, it's not HDR.
