All Black makes this car look 10x better. My all black version looks so sick.

Good stuff Nathan. Just got a 2018 3.5 V6 Tech Package, and love it. I'll be trading it in 2020 for a TLX V6 S when the time comes.

can you tell me about the 2015-2016 acura tlx transmission issues ?
@AutoN8GT6 жыл бұрын
Yes. The transmission production was outsourced by Acura/Honda to ZF which is a company that’s been making transmissions for years for brands such as Jeep, Audi, BMW and more. They are very good transmissions (8 and 9 speed) which are dynamic and sporty while still contributing to better fuel economy. Problem with the ZF 9-speed application in some FCA(Jeep/Chrysler) and Acura models is that it never quite worked right at first. The transmissions have to be programmed by the respective engineers to fit with their cars optimally. FCA and Acura’s with that trans sometimes experience lurching and the feeling of acceleration while you were actually slowing down. It would downshift in a sporty way but it was unsettling because you’re just trying to stop at a stop light. Also, there were experiences of the car being very jerky through the first 3 gears under moderate acceleration. If you drive quickly all the time then you might not have noticed it. But that’s not entirely practical. Moving forward with every year since, the programming has gotten better and the performance has gotten a lot smoother. Now you get the benefit of a quick shifting automatic with the ability to downshift and rev match so you can power out of a turn with the peak power. The latter is what the car was designed to do when you wanted it; unfortunately it happened at other times too which was not good. Now they are better in the 2017s and above. 2018s have 0 hint of those problems lingering. If you’re going for a 2015 FWD, then pay attention for how it shifts at slow speed. AWD TLXs have always been better suited to that 9-speed so I think AWD is the way to go if you can find one. Good luck!

As an owner of one let me give you a few reasons NOT to buy it. 1. Transmission issues that STILL aren't fixed from 2015 onwards on the 9-Speed Auto. 2. Acura DOESN'T care about you. I've had countless Honda's, this is my first and last Acura. Avoid.

Richie Rich it depends on the residual and money factor on the lease as well as the price difference and the deal that your local dealer gives you. Keep me posted when you make your decision and I can let you know about the best options

Sorry I forgot to ask. Every video shows using the Apple map app, can I use the WAZE APP as my main map app ??
@AutoN8GT6 жыл бұрын
Paul Morales Apple CarPlay only shows apps that Apple wants to use. Android Auto (google version) will let you use google maps or waze, but you have to have an Android

2.4 is the better option
@AutoN8GT5 жыл бұрын
Daniel Kim I agree. As a drivers car, it’s a better balance. Some people stubbornly stick to the V6 as a principal and I don’t like the dynamic as much due to the heavy V6 sending almost 300 to the front wheels. The DCT and I4 are a better drivetrain duo. The Aspec does really improve the V6 option though due to the suspension and in the US, Aspec has only been available in the V6 until recently. Now you can get a 2.4 Aspec and I’d chose that over the V6.
