It’s so bad that I’ve spent almost $2k on one costume and I still feel like it’s not finished yet lol I have a problem and probably an addiction. I have fun with it tho. Anyway I’m looking forward to your new larp videos coming up.

I know this an older video, but I was wondering what your take would be for someone who doesn't live near a lot of immersive LARPS? The area of the country I'm from doesn't have a lot of high volume in LARPS so it's really hard to get involved! I was wondering if you could give some suggestions or tips on how to find LARP's outside of your area/ what steps look like to travel for a LARP?

Hiya! I found my LARP by just looking around on the internet, so I don't have great suggestions on that besides that. For traveling for LARP - I'd suggest, once you find one you're interested in, reaching out to the community of that LARP and see if anyone travels there as well; you never know, you might find others traveling from your area too! Either way, you can also make sure you know some people before going, and even if you don't find people to travel with, they might have good tips on traveling with LARP stuff, and etc. Blockbuster LARPs are made for travelers to go to for a weekend (big, one-time LARP events) which can be a good way to dip your toes in, but be sure to research them and the company well. Otherwise, I'd look within driving distance first if you can if it's a LARP you would need to camp for, as it's easier to bring things that way. (Look up "LARPs in (big city near you)" and hopefully Reddit or another site can help you out!) If you need to fly, just make sure if you need to bring boffer weapons or anything, that they can either fit in your luggage or you can also check in oversized luggage. Unfortunately I'm not well-versed in traveling for LARP, as I live near mine, but I hope this gives you some help/places to start!

Okay I am not new to larping. I am having trouble because I am in a new area and I can’t drive. Honestly why are most larpers against helping people with rides. I am not a bad person nor ever been mean or anything to anyone. In nj and my area I don’t understand why people can’t understand that I literally can’t drive and I can’t help my situation outside of larp. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to find people who are open minded enough in my area. Believe me I try to make connections in games and outside games. I feel like I just don’t have people in my area who are willing to help. I am disappointed in this because I enjoy larp

Have you offered gas money? You can't really expect people to give a complete stranger without offering anything. Maybe make friends online with the LARP community in your area before straight up asking, "can you give me a ride". Go to meet ups with the community, I'm sure you can a bus or an Uber to a coffee shop or bar. As a small woman, I would never give a stranger a ride. You have to keep in mind that people likely don't have room amongst other things. This comment comes across really entitled. I also can't drive at the moment, but I find solutions rather than giving up because people don't want to give a stranger a ride. I'm sure you have family or friends who can drive. Again, offer has money. Just because you know someone also doesn't entitle you to a free ride when gas is expensive and it takes away someone else's time.

@ so i have tried going to larps in my area and offering gas money and simply asking someone to take me to a coffee shop if a larp is in a rual area that i would not be able to get a uber. I tried making friends but for me it’s hard to want to get close to someone if i keep ending up stranded at a larp because it’s either in a rual location or people take way to long to make friends and i would end up screwed over because of that. I don’t expect people to be close right away but i would like to be treated fairly and have people be fair to me. Honestly i decided to not do larp anymore because of this particular problem and many other reasons. I was very discouraged when i was scapegoated and hurt by one larp in my area that got angry and falsely accused me of something i didn’t do because i told them that they were playing the game unfairly and not being very nice to newer players. I actually was really hurt by that particular group. I now do historical reenactment and i am much happier. Right away the historical reenactment group i am helped me out and didn’t judge me and leave me stranded. There is a lot less unjust behavior in historical reenactment. I am also able to reenact the executioner at historical reenactment. And I was able to just come in as an executioner and start building up from there and that meant so much because it’s fair. I kept being disappointed and saddened because people gave me a really hard time with my character at larp because there was always someone else who was the executioner and there couldn’t be two executioners apparently. I am now the executioner in historical reenactment and nothing else and the people in reenactment support me instead of being hurtful and difficult. I am sorry but larp was not for me. I respect people who enjoy it. I just don’t like being unfairly treated or judged and sadly there was a lot of that in larp. But overall I am happy with doing reenactment and it is going well. I am also working a a renaissance festival throughout the year as an executioner and teaching about the history behind torture and execution. I got the opportunity through someone in reenactment. So honestly I am doing well and I wish everyone well.

@NicholasNappi okay, it kinda sounds like you wouldn't budge on your character when people in the LARP asked. That happens when your character isn't working with the story in LARP or TTRPGs or even just text based RPs. I'm neurodivergent (ADHD) and not the most social person in the world, so I'm going to give you some advice: if the situation is panning out to be "I'm right and everyone else is wrong", it might actually be you that is in the wrong. Instead of getting mad and screaming "this isn't fair!!!", stop and think, calm down (take a walk and a break from people if you need to), and communicate calmly with other people. This means no raising your voice or interrupting them. If LARP isn't for you and historical reenactment is more your speed, that's fine too. Just understand the world isn't out to get you and people aren't just going to treat you unfairly for no reason.

@ first of all I didn’t scream at nobody and I didn’t have a meltdown I am not that type of person. And there was things that were happening that were not for me. I am a person who is reasonable but certain things especially if something is really important to me I am going to be disappointed if people are making it take years to get to my goal. At the one larp I was talking about there was bullying and unkind words being said to newer members it had nothing to do with the character development. I don’t appreciate you assuming that I am this sick person who doesn’t handle myself appropriately. Because I don’t have mental issues. I am not giving this any more attention because a lot of things you said are not correct.
