As someone with super fair skin, none of the lighter shades look the same. They would all suit different skin tones, but they look similar to people who need the medium or darker shades

Honestly I never saw the tarte shade range because I wasn’t watching KZbin that much then so I can’t compare but I’ll take your word for it. I use the tarte shape tape foundation (matte) in light neutral which is ok but I want the lighter color than that. It seems like too faced and tarte are trying to be more accommodating to fair people which I am veryyyyy thankful however I would like for everyone to be able to use the same products as me. Rin Snow completely. companies tend to focus more on white people but tend to miss the palest shades, and then barely go near the darkest shades. Too faced just added 9 medium and dark shades to their foundation, which is amazing, but it's also sad, because they need a paler shade too

Dana Voyles I had the same issue with shape tapeand because its so expensive I had to make it work so I bought some squalene serum on amazon .. Squalene is a lightweight moistirizing serum derived from olives and it plumps up skin without being greasy and I appied a drop to each eye then let it absorb and the shape tape looked amazing .. so I realized it was the way I was moisturizing my undereye that made a difference ...

so glad you made this video! I tried shape tape and while using procative which dried up my face and created dry spots and dry under eyes. As I continued to use shape tape it made it it worse and continued to flake off no matter how much moisturizer and hydrating primer I apply. So happy to soon try out born this way concealer!!

I have very fair skin with cool undertones, however, as I have grown older, my skin undertones seem to be leaning a bit toward neutral. A few years ago, chemotherapy changed my skin from normal/oily to normal/dry, so I decided it would be best to switch from powder foundation to liquid foundation and concealer. Over two years since I began my search, I still have not found a color to match my skin tone. I know I am not the only person in this situation. I believe most foundation wearers who have very fair/fair or dark/very dark skin tones have similar difficulty. Nikkia, perhaps because I am so fair and I am used to comparing concealers and foundations in very fair shades, I see the differences between the 11 shades you swatches. I did not spend a lot of time looking at them, but from what I saw, generally, each shade level has a warm shade, with a slightly yellow undertone, and a cool shade, with a slightly pink undertone. They aren't overdone, as with some concealers and foundations, so they should work well on a wide range of people. I applaud Too Faced for making very fair, fair and light shades with cool and warm undertones, however, I don't recall seeing many, if any, neutral shades. Also, I agree with you that there aren't nearly as many shade levels in cool and/or warm and neutral undertones for those with medium to deep skin tones and shades for very deep skin tones are nonexistent. While this looks to be a great new product in Too Faced's line, I hope they plan to expand their line of concealers and foundations to cover a majority of skin shades and undertones. Thank you for swatch the concealer colors, for test wearing it and for giving your opinion on this product. I truly appreciate the information you give in your videos and your opinion, as a professional makeup artist, is helpful, when making purchasing decisions. I look forward to your upcoming videos. You have to remember that, when using a concealer, people typically use a lighter shade. Considering how dark the range does go, I think that a lot of people will be able to find a concealing shade. I think, for their initial release, based off of concealer (not contouring), I think it’s a nice shade range. It’s definitely one that I am anxious to review; to see how the formula works on mature skin.😍

Hayley the two darkest shades are red and orange.... there are darker people out there who won’t fit 4 shades. 3 of those “dark shades” she used herself as contour and she’s tan. There’s like even mixed people who are darker than her.. so that leaves them, 1-2 shades. But light skin people get to choose from 1-12 shades? How is that fair? It’s not bashing it’s being equal.

You're not a deep skin tone so you don't fully understand. It's not all about highlighting, and there are a lot of people who won't even be able to highlight with the darker shades. All Nikkia was saying is that they could've done a better job.

If your children live in the Marion area, next time you visit them,go to Marion Shopping Centre. There is a lovely new big Mecca Maxima store there and they have a lot of the brands (like too faced etc ) and all the girls are so helpful. They will also give you little sample pots to try products if you are not sure. You can join their Beauty Loop program for free and they email you the latest news and specials. I have had a couple of free makeovers with them and they have been fabulous. Also try eBay for products. I used this yesterday for 12 hours and I was at a water park and it didn’t budge it was also 105 degrees out so I was sweating and water wet. Honestly it was amazing, I love my tarte shape tape but it’s so drying and this concealer looked so good under my eyes and it felt moisturizing, not dry and tight like shape tape. I’m an oily girl but shape tape is very very matte! Also I did set it with the derma blend translucent powder and it still didn’t felt and looked great. Also this is infused with coconut water.

This concealer is a lot like the jeffree star concealer as far as blend ability and coverage. Both are my faves right now. If I had to choose I'd go with born this way since you get WAY more product for your money. Too faced cost more but JSC has such a small amount inside the component.

It would be really nice if you could put all of the makeup you used in the description box 😊. Also, I love that you didn't use any filters on your camera, so we could really see the texture of your skin. It's really helpful so we don't have unrealistic expectations about what the product really does. 💚

Personally, since I only use concealer and not foundation on a daily basis, I like it to fit my skin tone and frankly maybe I could use the 2nd palest shade (since the palest is more of a yellow undertone) but the 3rd is far too dark for me. It may look the same for people with deeper skin tones but for me they all look very different. I agree that the shade range for POC it’s not diverse enough when it comes to undertones nor does goes dark enough but that doesn’t mean that the lighter part of the range and the amount of shades it has it’s unnecessary...

Great video, I was wondering about this one. Hope they have a shade that'll match me, they didn't with the original. Everything was way too Yello for me. I'll have to check it out. Can't wait for you to test the new Dior backstage foundation. It's a lighter coverage that really lasts has that your skin but better feel, but demi matte and long wearing. So basically a dream for an oily girl who doesn't wanna go full coverage all the time. I love it so far and I'm eager to hear your thoughts as a fellow oily girl!

While watching this video today I had a thought (just a thought....) I wonder how a DARKER concealer like the maple you used, for instance, would work as a "lowlighter" (as opposed to a highlighter) for gals like me with hooded eyes and bright white hoods? I'm always darkening those with powder (contour, matte brown eye shadows, etc.); I also LIKE to apply a gray shadow under my lower lash line. I don't own any darker shaded concealers or foundations, but I wonder what using something like a darker shade of those you demonstrated as contours would work for me as lowlighters on brows and under the lower lash line? (There's probably a term for that which I don't know....) What do you think? I'd love to see a video of that. Now I'll go looking for one.
