I saw this video yesterday, bought the 4300 from Home Depot this morning with price matching on Amazon. I never thought to ask until this. Thanks!

Regarding the dead Dremel... I returned my 3000 under warranty. Before that I saw repair guides showing how to reattach the copper motor wire, which apparently can break. Complete disassembly and voiding the warranty made that an undesirable option.

I'm glad to know they honored your warranty!

@WoodandHomeAccents4 жыл бұрын
The 4000 is the older model. Both are good and include good options to start with, my older one just died. Let me know what you decide. Thanks!

One Step Closer sir what about dremel 4200 do u think it good or I should buy Dremel 4300 ?
@WoodandHomeAccents4 жыл бұрын
The 4200 should be a fine choice also, if it has the options that work for your application. It was not available locally for me.

I aware of this video just now, by this time you may have known why your 4000 is dead now. My one died just after less than 20 minutes of lifetime light use (although it took me 6 years just to find this much use, and what I'm try to say is , out of warranty). So for my case it cannot be the brush (I checked it anyway, it is still as new) . If you google, one common issue, in fact so common, is the poor switch design, the actual micro switch is way under, b4 the speed selection dial, and the switch plastic stick somehow loose scratching that switch, very flimsy design. when you slide power on, really hard grip (or press hard) around the area right before the speed dial area to see if it works (loose the grip it will stop running). If so for your toy, you can fix it by adding something to the end of plastic tip pad (have to open the body). Of course the overheat fuse may also melt if you run it for long. Although I was pretty pissed off by this Dremel 4000 quality, the other side I want to point out is, I sent my 4000 (like new but 6 year old) to Dremel for repair, they do sent me a refurbished 4300 model instead, without any charge, kudo to that, but it also means they know the 4000 issue is so common. In the end, I paid $17 shipping (to), replaced my broken but like new 4000 with a reconditioned 4300.

Where did you get the cheaper price match for $100 to take to Lowes?
@WoodandHomeAccents4 жыл бұрын
I did a search on Google under Shopping for the same item ad in the store and saw what was available from a real store, even though it was not near me, on the day I purchased and showed the teller the ad on my phone telling them Iwould like to price match this item. With that information they applied the price match. There was nothing else I had to do and it took them less than a minute to apply the change before paying at checkout. It was at Home Depot. Lowes will price match also, but I have had Home Depot price match significant differences, over a $100, when Lowe's declined a price match with such a difference. GOOD LUCK!

It's probably the motor burnt out, you can smell the motor to see if the motor is goosed.

What's the difference between the 4200 and 4300, and are they decent enough to grind/carve hard rocks and polish fossils? cheers!

I don't have personal experience with the 4200 to be able to compare the two, if you try it with rocks and fossils, please let me know how it goes. Thanks and good luck!
