That Dewalt dust extractor wasn't extracting a lot of the dust. I just prepped a basement floor last week by grinding down concrete after drain tile was installed and a cyclone dust separator is a must have for those applications, if you want the dust extractor to stay clean for longer then add a second cyclone to the mix, you don't lose much suction from the cyclones

I used to use that dustless technology vacuum long time ago, very powerful but very inconvenient to cary. A rectangular shape and top handle is the way to go, it takes less space in the van and easier to cary on stairs.

The last time i bought a skill saw it really didnt matter with price. I went down the line and pulled all the triggers and if i had to use two hands to start it i went on to the next one. I ended up with a porter cable and its been great. You pull the trigger with one finger and go with no extra little red buttons to push or pull.

I swear half the power tools are designed by office workers . The dual trigger safety feature on the hilti Portaban is the most useless thing. Especially on smaller models that milwaukee has as well. You can't always have material In a chainvise and need a hand to hold a unistrut. I returned the milwaukee dual trigger and bought a older model.

Can you also imagine having to take out 6 screws just to change the blade? Whoever gets that hilti bandsaw in the field is going to throw it off the truck as soon as possible just to “test out their claims about durability”.

Makita should make jigsaws with AVT, and Milwaukee should add vibration reduction technology in their M18 fuel sawzalls as well as an MX fuel pressure washer, a dual battery M18 fuel pressure washer, an M18 fuel random orbital sander, a gen 2 M12 fuel hackzall , M12 fuel tile vibrator, M12 fuel stapler with a bump fire mode, and an M12 fuel jigsaw.

M12 hacksaws are not well built. I went threw 3. Then upgraded to the 18. Plumber. The 12 shorts out with any water 💧. The 18 I've had one for almost 6 years I believe. Just recently bought another.

The amount of outdated tools sitting in a warehouse going to waste, or just straight into landfill must be ridiculous. The rate in which tools are “upgraded” these days is absolutely insane.

Perhaps its like the EV vs ICE markets: countries that cannot afford to switch to the latest become the outlet for 'legacy' tool sales, ironically of which the profits finance the tool tech upgrades. Here in South Africa, Bosch for instance is utterly rudderless when it comes to serving existing products, much less the latest upgraded versions. An example: the WHOLE COUNTRY doesn't have stock of splinter guards for their guide rails. Bosch ZA says they not bringing it in, with retail outlets advising ppl to rather import it themselves. Utterly ridiculous! let's not talk about south africa's little issue wrt electricity supply...😬

As a business owner for the past 9 years that loves Dewalt and uses Dewalt for my type of work, the prices are getting out of hand. My dcf887 impact driver is awesome but only 1.5 years old and the chuck wobbles badly. The prices are too high to deal with this. They should do like snap on and have a tool truck with in house financing so you can buy a package or all you need and pay payments rather than thousands at a time or buying as you can.
