Yes absolutely!! It's actually stronger than the hinge is on the Spigen tough armour case. I have that case as well.

I like the slim case, but I gotta have my S pen. So I bought the bulkier Spigen Tough Armor because the S pen hides in the hinge cover. Otherwise, it's nearly identical. But it makes the case noticeably wider. In fact, it's kind of huge.

I have that case as well and yes your right, it definitely makes the phone a lot wider. It's still a fantastic case.
