204 just doesn’t have the best aftermarket support. Everything was so piece-meal and high-risk. Audi is a solid platform that you can get 1 brand/company that makes everything from intake to turbos for them. Just a lot more reliable and trustworthy.

I did a custom coding on my car using an OBD2 module. It allowed me to install AMG features and disable my annoying seat belt warning and shut off the Auto start stop. I had to remove the video because the reseller stopped selling the module. It was cool. Now I can record track time, know my g-force, know my engine oil and coolant temperature and more.

Everyone should use a new steering whee bolt after putting new one on. Those bolts are one time use , i work as a parts advisor at benz.

Yeah, that’s what Mercedes recommends but I’ve never had an issue as long as the steering bolt is showing no signs of wear, I use loctite, and it’s torqued properly. And I’ve changed my steering wheels many times and in many cars. I should get a new bolt going forward especially when they are pretty cheap to buy.

Mine was plug and play. Only need a module if you want parts on the new steering wheel to work when you didn’t have those features on your oem steering wheel.

It works the same way it’s always been working. That’s how the car came from the factory. Go look at your car’s manual for details on how it works. The cruise control buttons on the new steering wheel just doesn’t do anything and i must use the OEM cruise control lever. That’s all.

I like the design of the double spoke but hate the haptic touch controls (as with every automotive reviewer). I have the facelift version and the toggles of the lower buttions and the roller knob for the volume are second to none, It does have a small tough mouse on each size and that is the weakest link

my car is an AMG package from factory so it's fine. But if its not your cup of tea, as mentioned in the video, you can customize it however you want with DMP. There's tons of options. It's pretty cool what they can do.

The version I have doesn’t have that feature. Plus my stock steering wheel didn’t have that feature either. If you’re looking for a steering wheel with that feature, then you need to contact DMP and ask them.

No. Cause this steering wheel looks like the new style but it’s designed for the w205 c-class. You only need a conversion/reprogram if you are installing an authentic OEM new steering wheel on an older c-class.

Does anyone know if replacing a steering voids a manufacturer or CPO warranty?

Any mod to a car “can” void the warranty but nobody can tell you 100% if it will. Not me, or anyone who responds to your comment. It’s up to the manufacturer to determine what voids it cause they are the ones approving and not approving any service carried out. And it will depend on the dealership too. Some are by the book and some aren’t.

They’re legit. That’s one thing I did a good amount of research on before installing them. Especially when my wife drives this car a lot. These airbags meet all the regulations and the quality is exactly like my own airbag when I compared them inch by inch. Gave me peace of mind that I also installed an aftermarket airbag on my A4 and now also on my Audi R8 as well.

Oh I get it. But you have to remember that any airbag is a gamble. Look at Mercedes oem airbags. A lot were recalled cause they were part of takata airbag issue across multiple car brands and like hundreds of thousands of vehicles.

Then move the steering wheel so it’s centered instead of being on the arrow (cause you don’t need it to be right on the arrow. The arrow is just a guide). There’s a lot of factors that sometimes make the arrow now exactly centered. or you need an alignment done in your wheels and the shop will straighten your wheel when they adjust the wheels.

Yeah. Cause it was the same thing with me. I place my steering wheel on the arrow and it was slightly off center to the left but noticed even if I move my steering over 1 notch, the was crooked the other way. There was no notch exactly in the center. I got an alignment and told the shop to straighten my steering wheel a tad and it worked.

LEDs? You mean the ambient kit? If so, yes, still works since the buttons used to control the lights are still on the new steering wheel.
