I am so thankful for your channel! I'm a seventh grade teacher who supervises three last-period study halls a week. On days when the kids don't have much or any work to complete or their brains have just completely checked out, I'll start with a Kemosabe video and let your channel run. The kids relax and learn in a less regimented, more enjoyable way; the room drops to a much more reasonable volume level because everyone wants to listen (and then my readers can read); and I get to catch up on my to-do list or just enjoy time with the kids instead of being a mean babysitter. Hey Jessi, thanks so much for sharing this! I also have been working through some really hard times lately, and my absolute number one way to do so is caring for my animals: my cats certainly wouldn't let me hide in bed all day when I could be up playing with them. There is a really special kind of joy and fulfillment in caring for animals that aren't necessarily so obvious with their gratitude, such as watching a snake's body improve after upgrading the enclosure or in my case, giving my bearded dragon a bowl of colorful veggies and seeing how excited he gets.

Thanks for the motivation! I've got 18 snakes (9 diff species), 7 birds, 2 geckos (gargoyle and leopard), a tortoise, 5 guinea pigs, 5 pet rats, 2 tree frogs, 2 13g freshwater betta + catfish tanks and an axlotl. About a third of them are rescues and every now and again I just feel so unmotivated to go do the hours of chores that await me, even though I love them all to pieces. As soon as I get into the swing of things, it tends to go by quickly and I love hanging out with all of them :) what happened to Pearl, and what did she live in when you had her? Someone asked me to take in a juvie male b/w Tegu and my best idea for now is a grow tent, like what you can get online to grow plants in. I figure I can reinforce the inside with bamboo fencing, but if you had better ideas I'd love to hear! :)

Once I can get proper equipment together (a decent camera, at least), I'd love to start making vids! It started out as just a passion for animals and then word got out that I took in animals that needed homes and now I'm almost out of room lol. Just the other day I went to get supplies from a local pet store and they told me about an axlotl that got dropped off... And now I have an axlotl lol. (I obviously research things before I take them in. She's in a nice 20g with sand substrate and a Fluval 50 filter)

What enrichment items does Prickle the hedgehog like?😶 I hope some day, when I become a landscape architect and start building zoo enclosures, I can build a zoo-like enclosure for my future hedgehogs!😊 It would have a small, artificial termite mound with tunnels that are backed up against acrylic so you can see through, into the nest chamber where moms can raise hedgehoglets. The acrylic would also be lined with a reflective film, so viewers can see the hogs without them knowing they're there. The rest of the cage would have fun tunnels to explore, various hides, all with little natural touches!😉

I wish I would have met a woman like you for my forever mate, but I remain single. I also always smile at your intro. I watch so many of your vids but I think have missed many, but will keep watching. You make every animal or insect or bird so interesting and you must be great with kids.
