You said the tractor had an 8-4 gear box, in the UK the small lever just behind the hand throttle gave you a split in all gears making it a 16-8, i see you have the lever in the cab.👍

On seals like that you have to take the old one to either Fleetpride, traction, Napa or a truck repair shop that’s been around forever. They’ll have to measure it and find the modern replacement. Dealer is not your friend on those old trucks (I deal with it all the time). Every time you get a part for those trucks or trailers write the part number in a file for each vehicle. When you find a seal get an extra for the shelf bearings also. I run my own truck hauling aggregate and you need lots of wear items on hand because sometimes the parts store is closed and you need that truck for morning. When the truck is paying the bills it needs to roll.

In the European market it'd be badged as a 2850. Built in Mannheim, engine built in Deeres engine plant at Saran. The castor-angle front axle lets them turn tight. Watch that Yanko dosen't get "nipped" when the seat bottoms out against the base of the cab. Likewise when the lift arms come up into the cab on full lift ( into their rubber/plastic covers). A European back window for it would be nice.....

Watched a movie several years back with Clint Eastwood called The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Sounds a bit like farming. You have to put up with all three. Don't work yourself sick Chris. Take it one day at a time and everything will come together for you as it always has. Get a good night sleep, have a hardy breakfast of bacon and eggs in the morning and get right back into it. Some of your commenters have said that there are red tractors out there!! Is That True?? 😁Nothing wrong with green. It is a matter of preference and experience.

The biggest downfall that must be addressed with everything you buy and that is the “farm upper management” (aka Yenko) needs a very comfortable seat/bed etc. to manage from. Let’s get that addressed. I wonder if something like packing mould foam would work to give management a platform …. form to space but still allow for removable. I think you got a great tractor well done!👍👍

"frame, wheel, hydraulics, shares" all you need to know. It would be worth watching out for a dual chamber with double screen yard incinerator... you're planning on being out there a long time.

Is it a power syncron with a splitter? Should either have a stumpy shift leaver by the hand throttle or the older ones you used to knock the main gear lever left or right to give you the clutch less split. At least that’s how it worked on European spec tractors. One of my all time favorites!

Hi from Aussie Chris. Here’s a trick an old engineer taught me years ago. To get out broken of studs etc drill out with reverse twist drill. Use just smaller size drill and when you’re nearly through it will suddenly unwind out of the hole leaving clean undamaged thread. When I saw it first time it was a revelation. I’ve bought myself a set of them. Don’t use much but when needed are a god send. As far as parts go, out here there is one rubber part on the engine of a ford ranger 3.2 litre diesel 5 cylinder that’s on the air intake side that is unavailable in Australia and no arrival time for it and no after market stock either as all sold out. My dealer now has three rangers waiting for that part. Can still drive it gently but now blows heaps black smoke negating all the pollution gear on it.
