There were definitely some exciting moments on those trails in those conditions 😂 Funnily enough, in hindsight the GoPro batteries being useless may have been a blessing in disguise. I always intended to make my video of the ride a bit different, especially with a few of us filming it. Probably not quite as different as it turned out though 😂

My GoPro batteries are buggered as well. Any sign of cold and they roll over and die!

I had two go, 30 seconds each! It was about 2 degrees C (and yes, I forgot my jacket, hence wearing a T Shirt) so I knew I would be limited with what I could film but I expected to get more than that! The real bummer is that the one bit of trail I did get footage of was the most boring of the day so not worth using.

Haha, ace video, definitely a different video to what ours will be like 🤣 really shows the laughs we had whilst still showing the nature of the trails, i will do that drop next time, i've said it now, no need to mention the skiddy underpants 🤣👍

Thanks mate. Didn’t think I would get a video out of it but once again the iPhone came to the rescue and luckily, it’s usually when we’re stood around that we have the best laughs. Really looking forward to your video (and everyone else’s) 👍

I didn't know how you'd do it but you only bloody well went out and got a top MTB video out of not having any riding. Oh and damn you for making the drop look so piss easy 😂 double chapeau 😎 me owd! Think we all had a great day out on the bikes regardless of all the gopro nonsense.

Not sure I'd call it a top MTB video 😂. Hopefully it captures the laugh we had though, and it was a cracking day, wasn't it? The drop wasn't actually that bad; I think you just went off it too slow (I rewatched your video earlier) and the front wheel dropped - you were unlucky really (well, that's understatement of the century but you know what I mean 😂)

Yeah, there really is some great riding there (proper sketchy on this day though, the tree roots and rocks were special 😃). It is a shame about the battery but I still had a fantastic day's riding and occasionally, it's great to be just able to ride and not think about the filming part 👍

Glad im not the only one. My batteroes seem to go off after about 30% in the cold 🤬 are the enduro ones any better do you know?

It's a real pain, isn't it? 30 seconds per battery on this ride, didn't even use the minuscule amount of footage captured on the GoPro. Not sure about the Enduro batteries, pretty sure they are only available for the newer models. Mine is a GoPro 8, nearly 4 years old and I guess the batteries have seen a lot of use in that time. Thanks god for iPhones; I tend to use it a lot for filming in winter, because of the GoPro battery issue. Audio is crap (and that's with an external mic on the iPhone) but better than nothing.

I ordered myself a GoPro 12 from Santa; he’s being a bit slack delivering it though. Will still take the 8 out, and use it for the non-riding clips (if the batteries last)

Marc, Phil, Jonathan, Christian and Jon all have riding footage. To be honest, the trails were so slippery and steep that the footage will be a comedy of errors. Hardtails just added to the fun. As for your invite, you just can’t trust Royal Mail to deliver these days 😂

Yeah, the downside to recording with an iPhone, and that's with a 'decent quality' BOYA external microphone too. I used what I had, wasn't going to bother at all but thought I might be able to get something out of it. Audio really is so important with videos. I have a GoPro 12 coming (hopefully tomorrow) with the Media Mod, plan being to get a decent Rode external microphone at some point. Believe it or not, I did try and fix the audio in the editing software but there's only so much you can do
