New Tray and Pen Diamond Art Club Review

I live in a middle climate. Not too hot, not too cold. I love the putty that is coming with the kits. It works good for my ABs, I’d assume it’s climate? I can’t speak for the whole package of putty on the website though. I tried to ask them via email if that pack of putty on the website was the “new” release formula yet, but they didn’t have that information unfortunately. They commented on my post last night in the VIP group that they’re permanently adding brass tips to the new pen. If you do have extra tips from the original old pens, take the brass out and scratch and clear the putty from the inside of your new pen tip. Then super glue the brass tip inside! WALLLLAAAAAA 🎉 It works magnificent! I loved hearing your thoughts, I just got to play around with it last night and I guess you could say I customized my pen immediately. 😂

I use the trays to hold my trash drills when I work out if baggies because they have lids.

Thanks so much for your review. I’m getting adjusted. One thing I noticed is the width after using another pen. I prefer a thicker pen. However love that is light weight.

While I haven’t used the tray- I adore the sturdiness of it and love the lid. They’re my trophy trays I have next to me. I’ll definitely try them out today. I love the small trays from the mini dazzles kit. I even labeled each new tray with which painting it came from. Need to try the pen too. You’re inspiring me today. Thank you so much! 💞

I really am a huge fan of the new tray. It is in my regular rotation now if I am doing multiple colors and no switching out individually. I think you should give the pen a shot. It needs some work but for what it is it's great. I wouldn't pay for it but its free with the kit.

Glad to hear your putty melts. I tried dots but too hot here. Thought it was me but now I know it is the excessive heat.

Yeah when it gets to hot I use a lunchbox with an icepack and switch out every 30-45 min.

I like the new tray, mostly. But, the short end is too short for the diamond pile so I end up with them falling out. Also I get drills stuck in the corners on the spout side because the rows are too long and I have to pick them out every time. It's maddening.

I think both the pen and the tray are nice upgrade. I love my hand turned pens so I won’t use the new pen. The tray does work nicely, but still reach for my Firefly trays.

Haha . I have thoughts about it too. Tom and I are planning to do a pen review later. I absolutely love the tray as well. The pen, well, I feel I just need to get used to it. I also live in a hot climate. I feel ya 😊.

Idk I think for a free pen it's great. Would I pay for it no. But for a pinch and have nothing else it would work just fine.

I love the tray. I prefer it to the Artdot trays I've used before! The pen is not my cup of tea, mostly because I prefer angled tips.

I’m mixed on both. I live in Texas so it’s HOT but humid. I haven’t bought a kit since the new tool kit has been out, but I do have three of the Mini Dazzles kits and they all have the new kits. I like the tray, but the stopper falls out too easily. The previous trays that had a stopper worked better as far as the stopper. The tray is really good and quality. The pen…. I like the concept of it. I wish they would come out with diff colors as well. I think they should come with a different single placer design. That part seems a little clunky. I have only tried the single placer with the pre-filled putty - but it is nice they give you a little bit to use in the multi placer or to refill the single. I must say I do miss the washi tape and cover minders. 💜💜

I hate the old stopper so much! They end up everywhere and only kind of stay. They are better than nothing though. I have to have one. I'm a messy shaker. They are updating the design with a brass tip to place which I think will help a ton.

@@diamondsandthoughts I don’t like the old stopper either but for me - depending on the tray it stayed on better. This one doesn’t. BUT I only have the smaller tray too. I’m so so glad to hear they are adding the brass tip back. That would make it a lot better.

I am a new sub, I have put the metal tip from the old kits(I saw someone else do it) JUST the metal part in the tip, I am liking that solution to add

There a hack as to where you can insert the brass part of the old pen, into the new pen and it work perfectly with the putty too

Out of curiosity have you ever used Alien Putty in your multiplacer? I live in a hot climate as well and I will never use anything else.

I've never used alien putty at all. But I do use putty in my multi placer. Randas crafty corner is my favorite so far. But I tried Swartz Designs putty today and loved it. I want to use it more before I declare it my new favorite. swartzdesigns.com/collections/caulk-putty

Nah…these look really cheap. I have covered trays from another company that are much better made, and much more beautiful. Maybe DAC should have come up with something more unique rather than copycatting other companies. There are many different companies that make much better trays.

I mean for free with a kit they are amazing. I have better trays too from another company that is better of course but if someone doesnt have that they are better than they used to be.
