Of course the views are a matter for him, that's why he makes this farm so he can claim having the first one ever, but if Ray truly and only cared about views he would do a totally different and more mainstream content for sure. The thing about most technical Minecraft players is that they care more about adding to the community than to getting famous.

Wait, is it possible to design a system that minecarts the player around to different spawners, just all the spawners over like the entire trial chamber. You can detect when they've finished spawning/dropped their loot with observers, and travel time isn't an issue because it takes a half hour to reset anyways. Bonus points if you can have it hold multiple minecarts worth of players for greater loot IG

Yeah now that I've thought about it, especially because it's so easy to stop mobs spawning on certain blocks with these, you literally just need a 2 bit counter that powers a rail beneath you when it hits 3 (11) to push you to the next spawner, even my limited Redstone knowledge can make this pog

Yes, that's discussed towards the end of the video. If they are all in render distance then you only need the minecart, otherwise you want to add chunk loaders to keep the 30 minute cooldown running.

Since there's such a long cooldown, there should be a minecart system that transports the player from room to room so they can activate other spawners while they're waiting for one to reactivate.

Honestly, I think the key will be used to change the mob in the trial spawner, if you hold the key when you kill a mob it will be bound to that type of mob. (These trials remind me a lot of the deep mob learning mod trials)

Don’t get your hopes high. It’s more likely they’ll open a new locked chest variant that’ll contain rarer loot. If the key drop chance is lowered it’ll be a good incentive to return to the chambers; off the assumption a single run won’t yield a key.

Loved the tutorial, now we just got to hope the keys actually do something useful. My theory is that we are going to get a special type of chest the regenerates loot whenever you use a key to open it. One of the biggest issues with exploration in Minecraft is that if you are playing on a server and aren’t one of the first players, the vast majority of structures are going to be looted, thus giving you no reason to bother exploring. I once played on a server with a mod that made naturally spawning chests give each player their own exclusive loot and even though the server was pretty old at that point, I still had a reason to explore. Also, the chests were unbreakable so people couldn’t ruin the loot for others. If this does happen, I have a feeling there might be some limitation like a chest “remembering” who has opened it already and not letting you use multiple keys on it, forcing you to find more naturally spawned loot chests if you want to use the keys you farmed.

Wait, since you can detect when the cooldown is done waiting you could have an afk-player in a minecart get called to that location. The player location management for optimal uptime “farm” would be more interesting. Could just be on a timer but dynamic rail-signaling would be more efficient due to the randomness. If you had a bunch of these long wait time spawners spread throughout a dungeon area to go between.

Have you tried putting scaffolding down. And then water over that, to push the mobs. Just to see if the mobs still spawn where the scaffolding is. Since water isn’t technically on the spawning space. That way you can push mobs into a trident killer and have just a hopper Minecart under the trial spawner since the fire isn’t there anymore. Idk if that will work but it’s worth a try.

I find netherrack cheaper. Netherrack is everywhere in the nether, for soul sand you have to travel. If I don't have at least iron armor and one gold piece, I don't explore in the nether

Why are there so few theories regarding the key? I would love to hear some theories. I only ever hear door and chest. But kingbdogz said, it's something we don't expect so theorising is actually helpful. When it's an ingredient, does it mean, it is used in crafting recipies? I fixed it: I broke the rail on the cart below the farm AND top (instead of just the top). For some reason the hopper minecarts underneath the spawners aren't picking up the items from the hopper minecart on top. I have broken the rails I placed them on.

You don't need the full square of fire or the hopper minecarts. You can cover the sides with blocks, have one block of fire with line of sight and a water stream on top of the spawner to carry stuff away.

Wouldn't using soul soil instead of Netherrack make it more efficient since blue fire kills faster than regular fire? Plus, soul soil isn't even that much harder to get than Netherrack

It doesn't matter how fast you can kill the mobs, because the reset time of the spawner is 30 minutes. As long as you manage to kill all mobs from all spawners within that time frame you can't make it more efficient. EDIT: Technically speaking, killing the mobs faster starts the 30 minute timer earlier. So if fire takes...say...1 minute to kill, while soul fire takes 30 seconds, over the span of 24 hours you will win 24 extra minutes, which isn't even enough to spawn one extra wave. So yeah...you're technically right, but practically it doesn't matter.

The minecart Idea is a good one, Build all the farms that need a player in that same area and just afk in one spot farming everything in the game, wont be the most efficient of every farm but it's afk so that's not the end of the world

Since they have a 50% chance I don’t think they’re that hard to get anyway. This farm is super simple but yields very few items - the setup to cart a player around is not only big, it’ll become nonviable because the structures won’t remain as common as they currently are (they always do that for new structures during snapshots).

It's reasons like this that Mojang nerfs stuff hard. Anyways, I can see keys being for trapped chests and copper doors for locking. Keys will be nice for Redstone locks, bit old using paper like an id card.... Named key tied to a trapped chest would be the best key of security, because even if you know the name, you still need the chest.

seeing how easy this is, I see a high likelyhood that mobs won't spawn in fire from the next snapshot onwards. Than again, if they still do, that'd be pretty cool, because this looks like a really simple farm to build, and if you build a rollercoaster in the structure, that just so happens to activate all the farms, it might even be kinda fun to use every now and than. Heck, you can even make it into a minigame type of thing, that collects the drops from the run and gives them to the player who went through the dungeon. Just out of curiosity, how long is the cooldown again? on th spawners. 'cause a timer with that length would be useful befoer letting another minecart/player go through the thing, as inactive spawners don't generate loot.

Probably yes, but why? Wood is automatically farmable (azalea trees) and with the new 1.21 crafter you can easily craft it into planks and then bowls.
