Ultra League is the best league and I will die on that hill. Not only is it not so fast paced you have time to think about how to recover it also has a much diverse roster. You’re gonna see more diversity in UL than in both GL and ML. It’s actually fun.

Yeah I agree. GL is too rps and ML is too pay to win. Most XL Pokémon in UL are in the wild at some point.

Not necessarily. There are some balanced mons that do enough damage that they don't need all the xls.

I disagree. You need so many xls to power up things. I have good iv, registeel, steelix, tentacruel, drapion, driftblim etc but i cant even use them because of lack of xls its annoying

@ start trading with people. Figure out what research has what you need. Make sure to mega certain pokemon during events and just grind for an hour. It really doesn’t take too long. Sans legendary it just takes strategy.

I just had my best day ever in UL. Running Guzzlord Lead (Crunch, D-Claw), G-Weezing safe swap (Overheat, Brutal Swing), and Tentacruel Closer (Scald, Sludge Bomb). There was a post on reddit about this line at the end of last season and I used it the last few weeks of the season. It's very strong. I would have ended the day on a 20 game win streak but on game 15 the game froze as I swapped a mon to secure the win near the end of the game. Reached rank 20 with my highest elo reveal ever at 2099

I had a friend who built XL Gastrodon for UL and said it was incredible. No flyers or grass in the top 20. Just grass knot on Cress

Love me some ultra league. I think there is something to be said for not everyone having easy access to every top pokemon and rewarding the grind. BUT, its not a pay-to-play grind, but more grinding XLs during events while utilizing maxed out mega pokemon types. I grinded to get zygarde, weezing, tentacruel, malamar, drifblim, lickilicky, (primeape was easy during community day). Still working on Drapion, A Sandslash and Gastrodon. Giratina Altered coming to raids soon! Find a friend to trade with to get better IVs.

Please do Ultra League content, at least for every 3 fantasy cup vids, one ultra league vid. At least it'd be nice to stack up a few so during the following week (master league and little cup), we have some ultra league content. Since it is an open league and fantasy cup is not coming back this season, open Ultra League will come back eventually so that'll be good for numbers in the long run (I think).

What are good budget teams(so no legendary or XL Pokémon pls) with swampert because I got one ready for ultra league but I don’t know what to play it with. I thought I may built a annihilape for ultra league on the December com day because it’s not XL compared to prime ape but actually still rank #27 and I can live with that but I don’t know if it fits in a team with swampert? I think Walrein is a good with swampert? But I would need to use 2 elite TMs so no

I don’t see how stunfisk will be good for ultra league. Even after I sent that team where I used it for great league it still lacked the power so I don’t know how in a bulkier league it would any better. And there’s not even many things that you would be super effective against to make it worth while

You aren't getting rid of the core due to the combination of stats and moves. You can push them down. But there isn't a way to get rid of them without completely over hauling the moves.

As Dan explains in other videos. Moveset is 1 of 3 things that make a pokemon meta-relevant. The other two being stats and typing. In this case Registeel, Cress, and Giratina all have simply wonderful base stats for UL PVP. No matter the seasonal moveset changes, their bulk will continue to keep them relevant in UL.

cres and regi arent actually around that much now. also whats wrong with gatr? its accessible and requires a bit of skill because its glassy, its better than xl legends like regi used to be

If you do five battles and it’s on more than three teams, it needs to be nerfed. And you can totally get rid of cres, regi, and giratina. Just nerf lock on, shadow claw, and psycho cut. Reduce the needy generation and regardless of their bulk, it will render them useless because you will never get to the charge moves.

@@TheRealMrAndrew they probably wont nerf shadow claw and psycho cut because that would nerf other ml legendarys like making mewtwo and necrozma bad which they dont do. also regi isnt even that good in this meta, the best pokemon are mainly the ones with good pacing. Ive barely seen any of them

I’m level 43 and will be playing ultra league for the first and likely only time this week, just to finally be able to level up. I absolutely hate the resource investment, at least with master league those Pokémon are going to be useful outside ultra league. Trying shadow Dragonite, Gatr, and Skeledirge as the cheapest team I could produce

My only problem with Ultra League is it could easily be better and pretty much take over, but they need to have less overlap with GL. More mons like Cobalion, Virizion, Florges that are basically made for Ultra League. Lower Master League should be waaaaay more prevalent than XLs, ie Mamoswine, Palkia, O Giratina, Dialga, Venusaur, Gliscor, etc. Those are cool Pokémon with no league. If they did that it would top Great League in spades. Get rid of the XLs please.
