1970's Emco Unimat SL 1000 Mini Lathe & Mill... + an Unexpected Haul of Interesting Tools!
I bought this small machine tool as a compliment to my watchmaking lathe. The Unimat SL 1000 is a metalworking lathe that converts to a drill press, a milling machine, a grinder, thread cutter and more.
The seller also had an interesting selection of other tools for building miniature models, jewelry making and other small-scale projects. Here's a quick look at what came home with me - I'm hoping to get the lathe running and putting these tools and supplies to use in future projects, which I'll share on the channel.
Please also check out my watchmaking channel for more horological adventures and more lathe videos: ‪@WatchWithMike‬

Look at those adorable anvils! They are awesome! I wonder if you can ping them like normal anvils! That tweezer with barrel looks cool! The odd angled one too! Vices are always useful. Cant have to many of those! Consumables are always welcome too! We call that a mathematical set in South Africa. Its used for drafting and sketches just like over there but leave it to us to give it a weird name haha! Take care Mike!

A mathematical set... that's really cool! I've boxed up all the anvils but I'll be sure to try pinging one for you at my next opportunity!

@@MikeFyxdt Thank you Mike! Its usually a good indication if the steel is rather dense or if they where simply cast or machined into the required shape.

8:10 that is the base of soldering helping hands. It's missing the hands of course. There is a horizontal bar that attaches to this and the arms are on both ends of that. Some have magnifying glass attachment as a 3rd arm in the center.

Excellent, thank you! I have another version of a soldering helper, and I never really liked it because the base was very bulky. Going to see if I can put this to use... 😄

As a hobbyist that's mostly done woodworking, many of these tools are new opportunities to learn different skills, like metal working and modeling! 😀

The stuff you got is nice to see, but your filming is just not good. Got seasick in the middle there. Why don't you have a stand for your camera? You seem to have all kinds of stuff in your shop. I will sub when you get your filming sorted out, not before.

Oh no! I never want to hear that I made someone seasick… That was supposed to be a reality TV vlog-style video! I'd love to have you sub, so check out this video which uses multiple cameras on a wide variety of tripods and stands for your viewing comfort. Hope you like it!😊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnq7oJusd61moJIsi=exGYPevQia5WMR4c

@@MikeFyxdt Yes Sir, that video is good stuff. You know, the only reason I watch KZbin is to learn something new. Videos like that one is showing me something new and potentially useful to know about. I see that you have a few instruments in your shop. That's interesting. I guess I have to got through all your videos to see what you got. I am a professional live sound engineer and have been since 1985. I also have a small repair shop to be able to keep my equipment up to spec. Ok, so now I am officially subscribed to your channel. Thank you for your recommendation of the Electric Motor Rebuild video. I enjoyed that, Mike. All the best from Nils in Norway. 👍😊
