@@Gary-e5w9n I think there's still talent even if rarer. What there is for sure is a lack of balls from producers. Before the end of the DVD sells/rental, production could bet on an odd movie like Time Bandits and get their money back with rentals (VHS back then) even if the movie did not do well at the box office. Now they do not dare on anything odd and original. Why bother when you can make a prequel, sequel, adaptation or a remake of great IP that most likely will make money (originals did in the past) for 0 risk. It is up to the public to make sure they stop watching these movies and force Hollywood's end to bring us back the great indy movies of the past.

When green lighting a remake, there is only one question that should be asked. "If it was released on the same day the original was released does anyone think it could out preform the original?" Time Bandits was not lightening in a bottle. It was a typhoon in a sports stadium.
