Starting with the artifact sets. We know that Hoyoverse always releases two new artifact sets at the beginning of every region. For reference, we got the Deepwood Memories and the Gilded Dreams set in version 3.0, and the Golden Troupe and Marechaussee Hunter set in version 4.0. We are all set to get two new artifact sets in version 5.0 as well.
We don't know the names of the artifacts yet, so I'm going to call them the first and second sets. The first set: whenever a character enters a certain state called Night Spirit, the 4-piece set increases their damage and also boosts the crit rate by consuming Night Spirit. We don't know much about this Night Spirit thing, like how it works, but it must be something like the Bond of Life effect.
Moving on to the second set: when a team member enters the Night Spirit state, it restores energy and triggers a reaction that increases damage for the character equipped with this set. It seems like this Night Spirit thing will play a huge role in Natlan, so are we saying goodbye to the Bond of Life? Well, it's too early to say anything, so I'm going to move on to the characters.
But before that, keep in mind that the names I'm going to tell you in this video are translated from Chinese, so I don't know if they're accurate or not. Alright, starting with the Hydro 5-star character. Her name is Mualani, or Marani, however they pronounce it. She's going to be a Hydro Catalyst user and a main DPS. According to early data, she's on the same level as Neuvillette, probably better.
I know it sounds absurd, but it's really true. If they don't nerf her in the beta, she'll be on the same level as Neuvillette. I know Neuvillette is a Hydro sovereign, so he's supposed to be stronger than normal characters, but that's in the lore. Hoyoverse can create stronger characters than Neuvillette, and they don't have to be sovereigns of anything like that.
Moving to her kit information. Her elemental skill is also said to enhance her normal attacks, which means that there's a possibility that her kit revolves around normal attacks. There's this thing called homing projectiles which must be part of her kit, and she gains damage reduction if homing projectiles hit three or more enemies.
Her first constellation, when fully stacked, gives additional HP scaling to her normal attacks and the homing projectiles I just mentioned. Her second constellation enables her to stack some sort of mark after absorbing sourcewater droplets. Yes, the same sourcewater droplets that Neuvillette and Sigewinne use. Additionally, the sourcewater droplets are generated after hitting opponents under the Night Spirit state with normal attacks, and they will be absorbed automatically, so you don't have to run around collecting them. Absorbing the droplets restores the Night Spirit state as well as her HP.
Her C4 increases elemental burst damage, while her C6 gives every single normal attack the HP scaling effect, which was previously only accessible through triggering her C1. One more thing: her shark surfing skill consumes the Night Spirit, and it consumes more when we are not in Natlan. I know some things are hard to understand, but this is early beta information, so it's subject to change. I'll make a separate video about her, discussing her kit, so there's no need to scratch your heads.
Moving on to the Dendro 5-star character. His name is Kinich, and he will also be a main DPS unit. His kit revolves around burning and bloom reactions, and according to recent info, Emilie can amplify his damage, so good luck if you're planning to pull for Emilie. Moving on to his kit: after casting his elemental skill, he rotates in the air and fires shells, as we can see in the latest Natlan teaser.
When you cast his skill once, he fires four shells in ultimate limit situations, and he also fires shells when the Night Spirit accumulates to a certain level. Moving on to his talents and constellations: his first talent increases his shells' damage by a certain amount. His C1 increases his shells' crit damage, while his C2 decreases the dendro resistance of enemies.
His C6 is somewhat interesting; according to the info, his C6 turns his shells into catapults, which is very interesting because, if I remember correctly, there are only three characters who use this sort of stuff. Mika uses a crossbow, Chevreuse and Clorinde use guns, so it'll be something similar.

Man, the temptation to roll for Emilie and Kinich is very strong, since their kits works well with the Burning reaction, it's safe to assume they will have synergy with the Pyro Traveler kit, cause duh, Pyro is fire. I kind of want to suspend judgement at this moment, cause while the character designs are good, and their kits are looking to be a pretty good appetizer for Natlan, it's still way too early to tell, especially when we have an upcoming character trailer that may sway opinions once it's out. This is just me, but I am hoping we get Tanjiro's seiyuu (Natsuki Hanae) finally voicing a character in Genshin to complete the Demon Slayer quartet (Xiao, Lyney, and Barbara as the voices of Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Nezuko, respectively).

i dont think pyro traveler will synergize with them actually. as proven by hydro traveler, they have no interest in making the travelers viable. dendro is an exception as it was literally necessary to have them be decent since there was like 3 dendro characters. pyro also already has xiangling and bennett, and itd be very hard for them to design a character that can outperform both of them in a team.

When they say "stronger than Neuvilette" were they just looking at the numbers or are they looking at the whole kit? Neuvilette is strong not because he have the biggest numbers but because he have the strongest and most consistent AOE output while having decent numbers. If we are just looking at single target dps there are already units which are "better" than Neuvilette, Neuvilette's advantage is his ability to hit the whole room at the same time.

Probably not. To powercreep Neuvi you have to do good damage and all that damage has to be AOE. I don't see it for normal attackers. On top of that she is a catalyst wielder. Generally speaking, catalyst wielder has the worst AoE. So to powercreep Neuvi her projectile attacks, which has AoE, has to have some insane scaling, which probably won't happen at C0 but it's out in the air for higher cons.

The early characters of a region are rarely all that broken. They usually reserve the OP characters for later patches. (Examples: Yoimiya in 2.0, Tighnari in 3.0 and Lyney in 4.0) So I wouldn't trust these leaks too much just yet...

To be better than Neuvillette the character has to have absolute 0 flaws. Good damage, good team versatility, survivability, AOE, Range, mobility. I don’t see Marani doing all of those things. She’s just a starter character for the region and those are not supposed to be too broken. She’ll be good around Lyney level mayve

Doubt that she will be stronger than Neuvillette. The only character that has gotten shafted like that has been Venti and the devs have learned from that mistake. Layla and Beizhu don't replace Zhongli. Chlorinde did not replace the Shogun. Not a single soul will ever replace Nahida. Furina and Neuvillette will be no different. This is all just hype, what Hoyoverse will do is give us Natlan gimmicks so exploration and combat are easier when using the new characters and not just by doing more damage. Now if you tell me that Murata and Xbalanque are going to outmatch Neuvillette, THAT is WAYYYYY more believable

I think Mualani will not be as strong or stronger! I think she will pull the same damage but not the same self healing and easy mode Neuvillette is all about. Their Numbers might be comparable but Neuvillette will remain n°1 since he is easy to build and easy to play for anyone.

Unfortunately for me, just when I finally gave in and decided to pull for Nilou AND Yelan, they are rerunning during the SAME patch. so ur saying 5.0 is a disaster. theyre just straight up abandoning bond of life despite it barely existing with 3 characters using it, which means sigewinne will remain mid. theyre powercreeping neuvillette and alhaitham, even though those two have been in the top 3 dps since release. i guess its to be expected, since hu tao was powercrept by arlecchino, but neuvillette has consistently been the best dps for a long time, and its insane how they just decided to powercreep the hydro sovereign with some random girl. you didnt say if kinich woud ld powercreep alhaitham, but hes probably on par with mualani, and they wouldnt release emilie as a support for him if he wasnt going to be good. so that secures his spot as the new best dendro dps. im actually done bro

@@greenvega Ummm yeah. What I meant by support characters tho is not support in its strict term but rather characters that compliments other characters well like how Xianyun is to Xiao. I'm not interested in investing to characters whose worth is only for a limited time. I'm more interested in investing into characters with a chance of being an all time or at least long-time support like Ei, Kazuha and Furina. Not to mention characters like Xianyun can only support a number of teams while characters like Ei, Kazuha and Furina can support a variety of teams sooo yeah.

no, the reason people don’t want neuvillette to be powercrept by mualani isn’t because we’re simping. i’m sure thats the reason some people are doing it but for the majority that just isn’t true. neuvillette being so strong was genuinely a mistake for this game. hoyo readjusted abyss to make it harder so people can’t just clear anything with him, but it only made it more difficult for people who don’t have him in the process. not to mention that recent abyss’ have been DPS checks or hydro checks, making him extremely meta. to not want this to happen again with the game isn’t simping it’s literally just wanting healthy game design. also i wouldn’t take “mualani is stronger than neuvillette” too seriously. remember what they said about yae miko? they said she’d be the strongest electro dps and change electro completely as an element. yeah, that never happened.
