Glad you're gonna give it another chance. I remember my Typhon V1 and my Sabertooth both broke very early on in their first video, bit I fixed them and they ended up being very good after that. Maybe this will be a great truck once you sort out the hinge pin issue. 😊👍

Certainly will be giving it another go. I've had some real cheap stuff take far more of a beating than this, and this looks much better built. New pins and i'll go back to the same spot. It really caught me by surprise as the jump was pretty clean lol.

Yes, RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7 had the same issue. I’ve replaced them now with branded pins. Hopefully will last a bit longer!

Standard problem on these. Had my V2 for nearly 3 years, broke pin on first run as well! You can buy better quality 3mm pins on eBay and trim to correct size. The black plastic bushes holding the pins split also.

I think for bashing, it's not that bad of a thing to break a pin.. If that pin didn't break maybe something else might had like an arm or a shock or something more expensive and maybe more difficult and time consuming to fix.. You just need to have a bagy full of those pins with you on the field lol.

Tomley a little tip as I own the cheetah put a couple dabs of silicone or something that will hold the pins in from backing out but can also be scraped off when you need. I know this wouldn't of helped here but sometimes those pins like to work themselves out. That will help it. My cheetah is very similar to this with a 120 amp hobby wing esc and nice motor. I'm sure it will be good for you. Also yes the v2 was plastic and was prone to snap near the front of the diffs so they came out with that chassis brace that they included with this v3....Problem solved!

The exact thing happened to me on my v3 as well and more......but nothing that is hard to fix. Just stupid things like lock nuts coming undone etc... I have replaced all the pins now, also if you put a bigger bumper on it, it seems to slow down the problem pin, I also swapped out the steering servo for a 20kg and it drives much better, the transmitter is v compatible if you want to use it for a tank or digger( Turn the transmitter on with the in trigger in reverse position, then to full throttle and the led will change color the it is in v mix mode). I'm loving it the more I repair it the more I love it. I can say though the JLB cheetah is faster and more durable from first-hand experience, but the bison handles better.

PhilthyCo RC That’s part the reason I’m sceptical of buying these not well known brands, Where are Helion today? I suppose if you are canny enough you can try and cross fit parts. I’ve never really heard of Vkar I remember the Helion from a few years back I’d been a nitro 1/8 fan, race at Local tracks and bash with friends in car parks etc but I was out of work about a year and ended up selling all of my stuff bit by bit then stayed out the game for a quite a few years. I found my my Tamiya Vauxhall cavalier and Mondeo touring cars, I poped down the model shop looking for a Traxass Slash he tried to flog me a Helion select four 10sc but I thought I’d rather wait until I can afford the Slash.

@@mark-1rc502 Vkar is the OEM for Helion among other brands also..Not many brands build their own cars they just import from ODM and OEM manufacers..Why be skeptical for? You get them from the OEM factory for less money and in most cases they have better electronics..There is no "trying" to cross fit parts as the parts are the exact same lol

Lol..Gil Losi Jr started Helion and it's an exclusive Hobbytown brand but Traxxas sued them over waterproof receiver boxes and many of the Helion rigs had to be discontinued..Thank Traxxas for taking down yet another good RC company.

Yeah, I don't mind Chinese cars, but I refuse to pay real money for them... It's not that your name brands don't break, but if they break real easy or inappropriately you can usually get some warranty support. Seems like a lot of the Chinese brands are pushing the boundaries of pricing considering you have to bet on getting zero support. With Arrma attacking them head on with their 3S and 4S cars, the competition is super tough right now... good times for us

There are some bad quality products coming out of China, but there are also some good ones. I think this will be good once I fix the hinge pins. As for Arrma, they have got it right..... a full range of pure bashers, for as little as $200!

@@TomleyRC Yeah, I'm with you. I've got nothing against Chinese products but I feel stupid when I get burned on one that is expensive for what it is. Like the little WPL crawlers aren't perfect but they're good for the money, but when you get close to Redcat or Vaterra money it feels like a good bet to save a little longer and buy a name brand... although, Redcat and Arrma have come out with cars that basically need a better radio right out of the box so maybe I'm rationalizing...
