WHO ARE YOU? WHAT’S WITH YOUR ACCENT?
We're Dom & Marie, a French Canadian couple who love Nutella toast and live in a van. Marie is the brain (Ph.D student) and Dom's the dreamer (Creative director). We have spent the last 2 years travelling around North America in our Promaster 136'' named Vanessa. In 2020, after a 12-month trip that was cut short because of Covid, we decided to sell our van to start a new project: a BIGGER van.
Our goal is to inspire others to start #vanlife​​ and to help build their very own home on wheels while living and enjoying a balanced online and offline life.

No hot water in the sink. If we want to do the dishes, we have a jetboil that heats water in a matter or seconds/minutes.

Of course, the van is gorgeous, but I'm SHOCKED that Dom didn't talk about the stripes until the end of the video, they're the most important part! lol! I kept thinking once the roll-a-door on the garage was revealed …such a great idea….they could of used those for the over head cupboards too. Could have save $$ on the gas strut lifts. Ohhhh good question. We would not for many reasons 1) we don't get that many boiling hot days in Canada, 2) takes a lot of space (we have paddleboards), 3) most need a massive electrical set-up to provide ac.

Have you posted any videos about insurance on your van? Do you find that insurance is expensive or are you only insuring the base vehicle? I'm looking at a Promaster, but I don't want to pay for full insurance during the buildout since it will be sitting most of the time.

You can basically call back your insurance to tell them the nature have the vehicle has changed once it is completed!

I’ve had a question for quite some time when I’ve seen similar second row seating. Are those seats really big enough for two adults? Do they each get their own arm rests (needed for longer drives)? If not, do you what kind of reclining seats are out there that would still allow passage to the back?

Hmm, depending on the size of the adults, I would say yes. But to be quite honest, it is not as comfortable as a "normal car back seat", where everything is designed to make you sleep.

Si oui, combien de temps vous dure-t-elle en général selon votre utilisation? Merci de nous inspirer autant!

La propane est une 5 litres, oui. Pour l’instant, elle dure depuis quelques semaines déjà, même avec plusieurs utilisations hebdomadaires du chauffe-eau et de la cuisson. On verra combien de temps elle dure! Notre vieille 10L avait duré plusieurs mois à temps plein sur la route!

I absolutely adore all of you! Your entire families are absolutely amazingly talented, fun loving, outgoing, welcoming, hilarious, humble and impressive people! Yes, it shows in the videos, even if some family members have only been shown briefly. Because of the previous list I typed, we only need a few moments to see these qualities within them. I have never met any of you and I am so proud of all of you! I honestly feel that I have run across the street (as good respecting, caring and fun-loving neighbors do) to sit out back on the patio with y'all and share our Sunday morning coffees while listening to your new adventures. I look forward to these Sunday mornings. You are all so inspirational! I believe a heck of a lot more than you'll ever realize! We do take in everything you know! We (well maybe I shouldn't speak for all, but I bet I'm pretty close to being right on the money when I do say this) see how much you are achieving in your lives. And "that" is extremely inspirational! In so many ways and so many different ways to all of your viewers!! It does give me the 'kick-in-the-butt' that I need to keep going. I absolutely LUV the new van!! The thought and details that were so carefully planned and executed are amazing! And all that hard work?! Well, . . . . doesn't it feel good? It's done! Yay!!! Another achievement so expertly accomplished! I can hardly wait for the next "on-the-road" adventure!

WOW! Absolutely fantastic van tour. I’ve followed along right from the beginning of the build, but when it’s shown as the finished van it’s really something special. When Dom explained the stripes it just cracked me up, I loved it! 😂😂. Also like that you went with Vanessanessa, and the 002 on the van is nice touch. 👍🏻.
