Probably because they have also done many stories where women have falsely accused men of SA'ing them, only to find out later that the women lied about it. Yet by then the damage to the men's lives/careers has already happened just from the accusations without any evidence. The former Buffalo Bills kicker is one example. He was accused of being part of a gang 'grape of an underage girl at a college party. Just from the accusation he got kicked off the team. It took a couple of years for it to finally come to light from the investigation that he wasn't even at the party where the gang 'grape" took place.
