Great video Andy spot on what you’re saying the arse has really dropped out of the caravan job, ours is worth about 5 grand less than this time last year, it’s a good job we have no intention of selling it. Camper vans are definitely the thing at the minute.

Thank you - and for taking interest - yep things arent that great but camper vans have been on a roll but many will go out of bust if the market hardens up. Its a case of sitting tight

Great video Andy, you definitely have your finger on the caravan industry pulse. Let's hope out of the ashes will come something good. I'm really looking forward to the restoration videos, seeing the ups and downs of a restoration will be great viewing. Yeah a video from a dealers forecourt is a great idea too. Well done keep up the good work.

Good video.someone told me Towing a caravan with electric car will cut the range by 50% plus you may have to unhitch the van at the charging station - All sounds very stressful !

Added wear on batteries, cant leave a trailer/caravan without its tow vehicle attached as you say half battery range etc and not many electrics an tow much so not for me !!

The most important point in this vlog was the 5 year ahead issue. It’s highly likely the industry is going to shift from large caravans, due to their high cost and the machinery to tow them. Elldis, will potentially go out of the game altogether if they don’t drastically sort their brand reputation on poor quality. I knew this storm was coming and as for the NEC shows I can see only the October event happening long term.

Andy I remember all those times with the caravan industry and I wish some old names could come back like Cheltenham Avondale Fleetwood etc what sort of van would them make today if still around. When Cheltenham went my father gave up caravaning and I went onto Bailey till 2019 when my new Verona had 2 axle go in 14 months so changed to a 2015 second hand Coachman and am over the moon with it. I think about 2015/16 the caravan industry changed and not for better so paying some £30000+ to replace it won’t happen. But still see people have for sale rebuilt Cheltenham for some £5-6000 and times I am tempted.

I wonder to Colin - Cheltenham would still probably be as they were but it would be interesting on the others. Part ex prices are stupid one dealer has little used as he said he cant afford to take the hit, and his new Adria stock just aint moving at all. The way the world is now folk are worried so keeping hold of there cash!

Excellent summary Andy, but one other factor I beleive is hitting CARAVAN Sales, the media, TV, press, and social media etc are pushing MOTOR HOMES, I was in a dealers yesterday they said Caravan sales are down 11% year on year, Motor home sales UP 36% year on year. Some people are buying into this dream of driving off to where ever they want, pulling up and camping (ie Wild Camping), but yes mate an excellent summary thank you

Hi Peter - yes the dream - amazing how many years ago motorhome users were actually looked down on!! Wild camping will become less and less as time goes on - I personally think you should use s site. Can you see when a motorhome gets damaged in a lay by and the insurance company wont pay up because it wasnt on a secure caravan site! Your right with media pushing motorhomes and campervans - new caravan models are needed to get folk out to the dealerships to my mind Coachman are in need of revamping and also Elddis overdue - thank you for watching and commenting great to here from you

its being worked on chassis is now repaired and being painted too. Due to wet not much other work carried out but hoping for more videos on its resto ! Thanks for you comments you gang!
