At max volume the JBL does lose a little bass output, while the W-King retains it's bass signature for the most part to max volume. The JBL will get a bump in bass and volume when plugged in, while the W-King appears to play the same plugged in or off battery. That's pretty standard for W-King speakers.

I got mine today and for the price is a pretty good speaker. It gets LOUD and BOOMY. Considering the BB3 MRSP is US$499 and keeping diminishing returns in mind the X20 is an outstanding deal. Is it a BB3 Killer? No, but it's not Killed by BB3 either because these are different speakers with different strengths with the X20 coming out as the undisputable winner in value.

@@Vulcan5911 Yes, even with the bass boost on. I did have the BB3 plugged in, which gives it 180 watts. It's the fairest way when comparing these two speakers. In battery or portable mode, it's only getting 136 watts. The X20 is rated at 200 watts. So if you hear comments being made that the X20 is better than the JBL, this is probably why. Don't get me wrong, I like the X20, it has good sound quality, with detailed mids & highs. The one thing that I don't particularly care for is the fact that you have to engage the bass boost in order to get deep bass out of it. Once you do this, it muddies up the mids & highs, forcing you to use the 11 band EQ to fix this issue. I personally feel like the X20 is more well suited for outdoors due to it's detailed & loud mids & highs with stronger mid bass opposed to low deep bass. The JBL BOOMBOX 3 excels indoors next to a wall or in the corner of a room.Their speaker setups are similar, but the bass boost & crossover design & or frequencies are different.

I think the JBL overall will be a little louder and through most of the volume scale, have a little more bass output. The W-King has the strengths I mentioned and I really like the overall sound and capability to use their app EQ. This is only the second speaker, that I'm aware of, compatible with the W-King app that came out last year. If buying one the W-King would be a lot less $$ and is right in the ballpark overall of the JBL. I would have no problem taking the X20 on the go....as long as I didn't have to carry it long distances. It's a heavy sucker! lol

Granted, it can't really hang with the X20, but it's a feather by comparison. And now that the Boom 2 Plus is out and is still relatively light, it might be the near perfect trade-off.

W-King X20 punches harder with a more compressed sound. The Boombox sounds wayyy cleaner overall tho. X20 wins in the bang for buck category. BB3 is still king.

In my opinion what I heard the BB3 has a little lower bass, in higher volumes it falls behind but it lacks mids a little bit and the soundstage is not that open like on the W-king. W-king is a little louder has better mids, soundstage and the bass don't fall that behind at higher volumes and I think the W-king has more accurate, faster sound. Maybe it has a faster filter idk but it sounds like it's not that warm like jbl but the sound is more in time. Price different wise i think the w-king is the winner but when the jbl is plugged in i think it's a little bit better. Just my opinion😊

Friend, this is a good video, but everything is so confusing to me, here in Brazil there aren't many reviews of this 2 king speaker, but the one that does mentions that it has more "strong" and powerful bass than the JBL and also more overall volume , but in your video it's crazy to know which one is right, I also asked the opinion of someone who has both boxes and she also mentions that the W-king x20 shakes the entire room more than the JBL and that she thinks it's more powerful.

Yeah, I never use the bass boost, because it’ll force you to go into the adjustable 10 band EQ driving yourself crazy, trying to find the appropriate settings to fix or compensate for it. I’m not a sound engineer.

IT'S POSSIBLY THE DUEL OF THE CENTURY ! I really couldn't make out much difference with respect to the low frequencies, I couldn't hear any difference, other than I don't know why Jay doesn't like to start or use in the speaker comparisons, the bass ranges, total and complete, that you may have at your disposal. On the other hand, if I was able to perceive, unheard of, more clarity in the mid-high frequencies... I am not very sure that the W-KING X20 has an unfair price, I believe that this brand has done enough merits to provide us with Excellent quality at truly fair prices, I believe it IS WORTH WHAT IT COSTS. Good question. 😅 On occasion I've been called a JBL fanboy just because I consider MOST of their speakers to be excellent. They are the market leader for a reason and I think some don't think their price tag is justified. To me, when watching the db meter at 100 percent volume it seemed to be fairly close. The rock song on the Jbl peaked 3 db more than the w king. Other songs seemed to be closer. The Jbl on battery power is supposed to be 136 watts. It just seems like the w king having an extra 64 watts, should be a little bit louder than the Jbl.

The X20 doesn’t put out very much bass. I just recently purchased one, & repeatedly played with EQ presets, as well as continuously adjusting 10 band EQ. I own the JBL Boombox 3, & this speaker doesn’t even come close. It does get really loud, but I’d only use it for outdoors only, due to the lack of bass.

@@NojdaMannenReal Exactly, especially at louder volumes up to 70% the WKING cannot compete with the JBL. That’s why it’s considerably more expensive. The WKING sounds good around 50% or so, but after that, the bass fades away.

@@Unkown18346 It gets very loud & holds its sound very well at 80-85 % volume. If you decide to use the bass boost however, you’ll have to tinker with the custom EQ to get acceptable sound because it muddies the mids & highs.

Great review the only thing i take from this is the x20 needs 100 hrs on it then re review have a T11 I use it every day for 6 hrs a day the low end has improved a lot especially sub 60htz treble is smother

Even in large home subwoofers, where if any difference would be had it would be with these, even after many hours of use there is no noticeable difference in performance. Now with these small boombox speakers the chance of anything sounding different many hours later is even less of a possibility. But if you want to think a speaker needs 100 hours it to magically make it start sounding better, more power to ya. 😲 A speaker will be loosened up within minutes or less and won't have any significant difference in how it performs 100 hours later.

I have the wking d9, when it was a good option, but I heared the bugani m83 that i gifted and gpt jealous and investigated, now the king is Tribit, the d9 is like a cheap speaker compared to the wking, I mean the clarity, the bass clarity, deep bass etc, its a delicia to hear the tribit.

It's hilarious to watch the JBL Zealots (no Zealot brand pun intended) going crazy about something that doesn't generate any kind of personal benefit to them. Competition is good for the market guys, it pushes the manufacturer to innovate and provide better value to us. The X20 is very close and beats the BB3 in some areas, such as value, soundstage and usb-charging. Had them been at the same price point i'd go for the BB3 when it comes to comparison due to the VERY SLIGHT preference in low end bass and i just like the design a tad better, but it is not an advantage as wide as the fanboys picture it by any means.

Well the X20 looks like a larger version of the X10, which came out a few years ago..they did add a handle to the X20, but still have the shoulder strap like the X10.
