Norm you wanna hope Walmart doesn't do what one of our biggest department stores in Australia done. They replaced everything with there name brand and it's pretty crap they used to carry Penn Shimano Daiwa use to be a good place like Walmart to get bargain gear .Ill only use there sinkers and a few other terminal things but wouldn't touch there rods anymore.👊👊👊

I have a $17 Walmart exclusive spinning combo, Shakespeare Tiger, and the reel still works great after 8 months. The rod is legit too. Still use the reel but with a medium light rod to this day. I only switched out the rod because I wanted something better suited for finesse baits.

I got me a couple of new reels for Christmas. Duckett had a 50% off sale last week. I picked up a SWx 2500 spinning reel and a CWx 100 casting reel. I've used them a couple of times already and I am amazed at how they feel. My other spinning reel is an Abu Garcia Silvermax. There is a huge difference. The Silvermax has much more play and wiggle in almost every part of the reel. My new one is SOLID. Not a bit of jiggle on anything, and it stops hard(the anti-reverse).

I bought a little zebco push button reel for a quick overnight fishing trip and cought my pb bowcutt trout 😂 it depends on how good the fisherman is for the most part and norm can catch fish on anything which is beyond me

I've used an Ozark trail telescoping spinning combo they had a few years ago. still have it and it's caught alot of white bass and some small largemouths my only complaints really is the plastic spool at minimum you need at least a metal spool from best casting

Since this is a year old.....the new ozark trail ot 5000 is an insane reel. Bought it because mine broke and need a cheap reel to fish with the buddy's and I've honestly never gone back. Shimano bait caster all the way but man that ozark.

Walmart actually made spinning combos back in 2017-2018 and hammer hooks. This year they made more rod and reels and new baits. They stepping up there fishing gear. I actually still own a combo from 2018 and first fish was a walleye on the Walmart combo.
