It's been over 2 years since Kivox appeared on the scene making wands and he has yet to disappoint. I continue to this day support his creations and as a Potterhead it gives me great pleasure to know he still has that passion for wand making. If you haven't had the opportunity to purchase a wand from his one of a kind collection...then you are missing out but never fear his always in process of creating new wands, so be sure to check back every so often. The animal head wand is based off of the character Tokoyami with the quirk shadow. If i must say that aninal head wand is amazing!

My favorite wand you made is the one with the white acrylic and the as you called it horn blade. But all of them are absolutely FANTASTIC!!

I liked the white birch "rifle handle" wand the best. Very different from most of your wands. It really showed off your originality with still being able to fit into the H.P. universe.

I really like the fourth and fifth wands, they look really cool and classy. Shame they’re both sold, and I haven’t the money to spend on either of them anyway. Oh, and the fear of clusters of tiny holes on a surface is trypophobia.

Your wands keep getting more and more interesting, but I would like to see you make a wand with some of the more obscure wood you can find on the official potter more page! Like I would like to see a blackthorn wood wand, haven’t seen anyone use the wood yet also it’s my favorite type of wand that Harry used in the 7the book!

Wondering, we have some nice maple branches outside at the moment, should I let one of them dry before I go to turn one into a wand? Which I plan on doing. Like I thought of leaving a lot of the natural nubs I guess you can call them from breaking off the extra twigs, doing some sanding maybe some light painting or a finish of some kind. The first wand kinda reminded me of Nevill's wand a bit =]

As far as seasoning wood for turning on the lathe, it is better to put it up inside preferably in the rafters of a barn or garage away from bugs and other vermin. It is best to season wood for at least three months before using.

Great advice from angel whispers, It really does vary on what kind of environment you live in but for the most part yes you should definitely let it dry before you do anything

LOL 11 hours after posting there are only two ones left on the shop. One is that Sycamore wand that was part of a pair that still hasn't been bought. And the only other one left was the African Redwood with curly q pummel.

Just starting out wand making. Pretty much all I have access to is a dremel. How can I reduce done large pieces of wood, quickly, without a bandsaw?

If you have a regular hand saw you might be able to reduce it that way. A Dremel would take a very long time

A bandsaw is definitely your best bet but if you have a thin blade saw that might be another choice but it’s going to be a lot of work and you’re basically just going to be reducing the size of it but not be able to put in any curves

I'm new to wand making and I'm wondering how you create these burns. Do you just hold a lighter under it😂? Just seems counter intuitive to burn it. All of these look amazing tho😍

There are lots Of different techniques but you can easily overdo it I’ve used heat guns , lighters and torches, But for the most part I use a torch, I think one time I even used my gas cooktop but this is definitely not something that you should be doing without parental supervision

What’s going on with her shouldn’t effect your shop. If you don’t want to support her that one think but don’t shoot your self in the foot. You’re really not helping the situation at all by suspending your own shop, I don’t see the point. Do you like making wands and people like them that’s all that matters. Harry Potter is so much more then JK now. That’s just my opinion though you do you.

Also Paul, not sure if this will help , but I make wands and other things just because I like it and it makes me happy. I find inspiration in the material I have or that next peice i don't have yet , and also just from other people like Kivox that make awesome stuff and enjoy doing it. I don't bother with much else other than just creating and getting better at what i do.
