My 'new' GE Filter Flo. Quick tour showcasing this machine. It actually matches the refrigerator we are using in the house. Hopefully you all enjoy the video. Thank you for watching!

She is a real beauty! Wow they just don’t make machines with that classic look anymore. Not only good lookin, this could definitely wash the hell out of clothes.

Been a long time since I’ve seen one of these. I’d say the 1980’s would be the last time I have seen one. Trade-ins from this were era were quite common back in the 80’s. The funny thing is- people said the same thing back then about new washers in the 1980’s comparing the then new machines to these old machines and the new machines were all junk then too lol lol.. it’s all relative I guess and there was some truth to it.

Slowly getting cheaper and cheaper. The 80s had WCI so we can't say much lol

WCI machines were just an insult. We had a WCI Kelvinator fridge freezer we bought in 1984, looked nice but cheaply and poorly designed. Door retainers broke and the freezer shelf busted. If you left the dairy compartment door open on the door you risked crushing between the middle partition between the freezer and refrigerator. Hunk of junk that lasted 8 years . Got a Whirlpool after that and it was night and day difference.

@patcola7335 WCI made some really good window and wall air conditioners back then, some of the best. Their dehumidifiers weren't bad either. Interesting that their washers were meh at best. We had a WCI Frigidaire washer when I was young. Aside from eating belts, it never gave any trouble, and it washed decently. I remember the turnover wasn't great, but it did alright, way better than the new crap. After that, we moved and ended up giving it to someone along with the Whirlpool dryer we had. As far as I know, he still uses both. We had a Filter Flo and a Whirlpool/Kenmore dryer for a while after that. I now have a Lady Kenmore Series 90 set (whirlpool direct drive washer and matching dryer). Guess WCI should have stayed with ac units and dehumidifiers.

What a great vintage washing machine.. I love the control panel.. They used to make washing machines so aesthetically pleasing, beautiful, with with a touch of elegance. Love how the control panels lit up. Love the agitators back then. They had larger baffles with a swirl that went almost to the top off the agitators.. They really moved the clothes and made great roll over agitation.. They reallly got your clothes clean in twenty five to thirty minutes.To bad today they have changed all that, and not in a good way, H E washing machines today are the worst..

My sears Kenmore about eight yrs old doesn't have a lint filter. I don't like that. Do you or anyone know what I could use in my machine to capture the lint....p.s. I have no dryer to fluff the lint off my clothes
@Gsohoover4 жыл бұрын
Front loaders don't seem to lint as much as the new HE top loaders. Dryer would help for sure.

Gso when the time permits would love to see the dryer.

UK laundrettes used to use machines similar to this. Do you call them laundromats in the US? Laundrettes are rapidly disappearing in the UK, as ownership of washing machines becomes the norm.
@Gsohoover4 жыл бұрын
We call them laundromats here in the states. They are still common in larger cities.

@@Gsohoover also, I'd love to see the motor and clutch in action up close. I'd like to hear it on the small load setting - not the mini setting. How many fabric selections and what are they? What are the speed and temp combinations? I hope you find a minibasket!
