I am so surprised that the White Nights tin rusted so badly, especially for the price they charge when the empty tin is purchased 🙁 I use a small piece of Loctite fun tac. Flatten a little ball and put onto bottom of each pan. Stays pliable and easily removed. Also is the best kneadable eraser.

Thank you for the tip. I think White Nights made it for the Russian climate also because it has honey. That's what I love about it. I live close to the equator, but am still determined to use it. :)

I have been using for maybe 20 years the same portable Winsor & Newton 12 Half Pan Field Box. :) I like your color swatch! Interesting.

A little tip that might help keep your pans in place: before you put them in, bend the tabs inward a little, maybe a little farther than you expect. Then, put the pans in at an angle, with the angle going up toward the tab. They should make an audible snap as you push them into place (and there should be some resistance), and the little curl at the top of the tab sits over the backside of the pan. This is what holds it down. I hope that's helpful!

Hi Alvin, I look forward to seeing how these colours work. From the video they look rather opaque or was that just the way they look on screen?

Many of my students are amazed at how brilliant there are on paper. So I guess it's not just how they look on screen.

I just use white Tacky gum from Faber Castell or any double sided tape to hold my pans in place. I don't like the metal holder.
@AlvinMarkArt2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that. And I know what you mean. I am on the search again for a non-metal one.

@@AlvinMarkArt Brass palette can be made light , but yes, it’s expensive... The quality of metal palettes these days has gone down and they rust very quickly... Art tool kit pocket palette is nice but tube paints don dry so fast in Singapore’s weather... Like some one said , and I also use tack it to put the pans in place.. Good luck Alvin with your new palette... Lovely colours.. looking forward to seeing more videos and more art with this palette... Thank you for sharing..
