Miriam, I really like the idea of the waterfall inserted into the rock. The entire scene looks so realistic with the picnic area, horses and the added greenery to accent the entire beautifully created rock surroundings! Very well done!!! We have had a Christmas village for about 12 years but we have always just laid the houses on top of their boxes. Well this year I found your channel and I am on a mission!! I just put plaster on my very first platform tonight and can’t wait for it to dry so I can paint. I was so excited to see this tutorial!! Yes, I should have told you it will take about a week to completely dry and turn clear. What I really like about this technique is it seems to be more realistic. You are right, its more durable this way. Styrogoo is amazing. Thank you for telling me about it a while back. It really does work for everything!😂 I am waiting for your new tutorials. I have all my platforms done. I'm making a removable river for one of my buildings.

I’m glad I waited and gave it time to dry. I did like it either way but I wanted to be able to report to everyone in the video. Girrrllll, my village videos are so delayed. I am making another water feature and it is taking forever. I might just release the video without the water because otherwise it will take another week to finish everything up. 😂🤣

I've seen folks using the clear Elmer's for water features in their village. Would you use it for the same feature?

Oh, I see. I have never used the clear Elmer’s glue but I would imagine it would look good. I might have to try that some day.

Hey Faye, I don’t like Elmer’s clear glue for villaging. I think it is great to use for craft projects but o don’t like it for styrofoam. The white glue will dry completely clear if you give it enough time.

Not at all. You don’t have to have a water feature to win. Especially if you have a bold statement in your village.

Hello, it depends on if I already have everything built in advance. If I do then I go from back to front. If I am building things to scale one piece at a time then front to back. It also depends on what table layout I do that year.

I love your videos. My mountain has water running down it. Can I just place the water effects on the mountain to let dry? It curves a bit where the water will go down the side of the mountain.
