In the UK milk is the other way round. Blue is whole milk (3.5%) and red is skimmed. I think you are right about babybell colours in blue being the 'light' version.

I want that babybel cheese! Its my favorite of the 2 original flavored ones! I love the white cheddar and mozzarella ones too! The blue one is the light and the red one is the original. The light as more of a cheese flavor and isnt so thick and creamy as if it was trying to be cheese and cream at the same time like the red one. I love it way more. Red can go away.
