I'm so sorry to hear about your eye! I am an ophthalmic tech for a retina surgeon, and I never thought I'd see an OCT on an OF video. I'm really surprised that someone who is fit and your age would have macular edema. If you don't mind me asking, do you have type 1 diabetes? I totally understand if you don't feel comfortable sharing. I'm just fascinated. You will probably be getting injections in your eye, and I just recommend that you find someone very experienced and reputable to do them. I know our surgeons' profiles each say something like "Fellow of the American College of Surgeons". I think that's one thing you want to look for. Good luck, and please keep us updated!

I just wanted to add that even if you have not presented as Type 1 Diabetic, you may carry the proneness in your genes and can face these characteristics in more ‘residual’ ways.
