How’s the performance with this? How badly does it affect lighthouse score?

Seems pretty good - depends a lot on the asset though! I did a patreon video with an animated logo composed of 5000 particles and the animation was slow in designer but fine on published page. In general if you want to create a unique experience with 3D then you may be making tradeoffs on performance/lighthouse, which is OK in my opinion, so long as it works for your intended conversion metric!
