I can't help, but think that while Joker's Velvet Room was a prison because he couldn't do anything, Wonder's Velvet Room looks like the ocean because he's either drifting and not caring or he's drowning in all of it.

Yeah he seems to have more of a aloof and lazy appearance than Joker so you might be right about that? Wish they’d add more of a personality to the main characters. Something like Wonder meeting comrades and fighting the corruption in peoples hearts he finds purpose. At least I think that’d be interesting…

It's a great contrast to Joker who suppressed his desire to help people and make a change, this protagonist is more about growing out of his apathy and gain a desire to make a change.

This awakening has about the same impact as Yu's had. The blood and screams of pain in Ren's awakening made it hit so hard, P3's awakening (in cutscene form) was dripping with tension and fear... Yu crushed a card and Wonder burst into pretty lights. I'm not impressed.

While this does all look neat, honestly this game is seeming like just a repeat of P5 pretty much, just with different characters, and only substitutes to the palaces from the original instead of anything totally new. The fact mementos is a thing at all is absurd, since it 100% went away after P5. While I do like the character designs and everything, with everything being so censored and everything being targeted at a younger audience, it does feel like a lot was stripped away for this. It is most likely not coming to japan (though if it did, it would make sense tbh), but I do not see this coming to the west. If it did, I WOULD play it and give it a shot, but it just does not look to be anything like what I enjoyed before.

Wonder is a MC who lacks ambition walking through life without a purpose or meaning That alone as a premise you would assume would be censored or out of bond for what P5 stands for The MC Parents actually exist and speak with the him. He's fairly privileged compared to the other Persona protagonist. Even the first dungeon has similar but different tone to base P5 The comparisons are extremely superficial but even watching the CN translated beta the tone is different and the story is going in a different direction

The only "bad" things I see are only 2: the first is not having blood when tearing the mask and the second is the mask he wears while the persona is activated (in other games of P5 the point is literally to be you without the mask so you can show your true self so there is no point in using a second mask)

It's probably because we didn't see a lot of this game, it originally seemed like a half assed Persona 5 2, however it does seem like it actually has some good production value behind it and maybe a decent story. I'm still optimistically cautious, and reminder, we didn't get any other ATLUS projects announced before this, so seeing "just more P5" probably hurt a few people

Huh... slightly weird but I guess it fits well for a Persona's mild berrating and then motivates their user, given Wonder's VA is the one who voices Shigaraki in MHA. Also... it kinda sucks there's no "I am thou, thou art I... " during his awakening but just after, and with how he looks, it kinda feels like Wonder is Joker's Rival counterpart, much like how there's an Government Special Agent tasked with hunting down a Mysterious and Elusive Criminal

It's weird how the censorship for China is handled On one hand, there's no blood, which makes sense for China, but on the other hand there's frequent use of the English/Latin alphabet, which doesn't make sense considering that other games have had to remove English/Latin letters in China (For example, the POW block in Mario)
