Join us as we take on the challenge of installing a new wood stove in our off-grid cabin in Alaska. We need to clear out the loft so we can finish the tongue and groove on the walls, and apply poly so we can get ready to hang our cozy bunk beds. Subscribe now to follow our rustic cabin adventures!

Glad to see you had a buddy give a helping hand and have a couple of laughs. Cracked me up when you said don't leave the door open to let the cold air out. The stove looks great! The loft floor is a little close to the flue pipe isn't it?

Yes. It will get heat shield as well once we get the final loft floor finished. Probably a part of the railing we put up there.

Hey there, enjoying the videos, thank you! Will you be showing how you finish the windows on the inside? I really like the tongue and groove approach, I'm thinking of doing the same just curious how you finish the window wells on the inside. Thanks!

Thanks for watching. And yes I will make sure to highlight that. Need to take a break on the inside for a bit to get the outhouse built, but hopefully by the end of Feb I can be back inside to get the trim up.

@@makingitinalaska Awesome thanks! Doesn't the ground need to thaw before doing the outhouse! Ha, I did mine a few years ago but it was in the summer and not as far north as Alaska! Probably the most important building I have!

@@cgreen4life if you flip back through our videos… I think part 4 did it survive. We dug the hole… it was the end of May so still rough digging, but better than now. It was -20s on the ride out to the cabin today.
