Some people are completely unaware of the fact that you can use a sword without a shield :) allowing you to fit into the light armor category to get the 20% damage buff. The sword by itself actually does REALLY good damage and applies a slow which is very important for making sure people can't get away. It will probably be best to use Medium armor to get the bonus 10% CC duration on the slows but full light armor "solo sword" absolutely shreds people. I will most likely be using Sword+Bow with a focus on Dexterity for the added critical strike chance and strength as well as long as you hit the 50/100/150 milestones

@@kiemlin2648 the playerbase has literally been only growing the past 2 years, check the reports on activity and player counts, SBI reports them a few times a year. You think what you want, but that is a delusion that players simply play Albion because nothing else exists. There are quite a handful of mmorpgs out there, playable - flawed in their own way, but playable. Albion is like very few other games, with its own set of flaws, but own set of good things; and not ALL people like that, which is okay. But a lot of people do, and that is quite undeniable. I'm certain Albion will not suffer a lot - for a long time, either - when New World comes out. And mobile version did bring a lot of players in, and kept quite a few of them. We'll see in a month or two what the reports say.

Do passives from the weapon mastery apply while on your back? E.g. if I have the sword mastery point that gives 15% physical armor bonus. Will that only apply when I have my sword in my hand? Or will it also apply when I havbe my sword on my hip?

Any equipped items' bonus do stack even if not unsheathed. Simple way I tested this was just changing my weapon and unequipting my shield vs not and recording it via character skills, tracking the bonuses. It was all the same either way no matter what I did

That said, as I do not play the Beta myself but friend of mine is, showing me, plus ofc youtubes videos such as yours, it would be nice to hear what weapons work well with each other. Example: I am going to Main musket, so for my 2nd/3rd weapon choices do I basicly just lvl em up to make em stronger or is it better to get weapons such as rapier, as it has the same attributes (dex and int)? Because I've seen plenty of videos already where people running around with musket + rapier or spear or great axe...list goes on. To me if feels more about the situation. Defending a fort and about to be zerged? "Spin2win" with great axe seems legit. More 1vs1 combat, rapier is better?

Try to use weapons that share attributes. If you're pumping int, and switch to spin to win, you'll probably kill all of the enemies slower than if you used the int weapons.

Yes you can, there is 2 slots to have 2 different weapons to swap between, seen some people go Sword and Shield with either Great Axe or War Hammer as their secondary

The fire-staff barely seems to have any variety to it, while the ice-gauntlet looks more diversified in terms of combos and skills, visually, anyway. Why didn't they do ice-staffs and fire-gauntlets, though? Seems weird to have only a fire-staff, life-staff, then an ice-gauntlet. It's almost like they chose what element to combine with what weapon at random and felt it was enough. And even for an MMO the graphics are poor and I watched other videos where the settings were maxed out.

Yes, there are three different factions at war with each other. You get a 30 second timer when you leave town when you flag up and it's pretty much open world PvP after that if you do flag.

its looks so strange seeing someone using only a hatchet, with their other hand doing what??? i hate it. if we are going for fantasy, equip another axe, if we are going for realism get that shield on there ? why is the sword the only weapon that can use a shield? they are also doing the classic mmo 2handed spear nonsense, thats not a spear. i just hate that so much. I was just thinking the same thing. Very sad that they don't appear to have some kind of real dual wield melee dps type option. total waste of that offhand. or at a minimum let you equip a shield with any mainhand, not just the sword. Seems like a really unnecessary limitation.

Yeah I agree. Having dual wield with some of these weapons would be great. Also you are exactly right about the 2 handed spears. Spears are generally shorter, lighter, and are designed to be thrown if necessary. Lances on the other hand are long, heavy, and are designed for use on horseback or with a shield for defensive maneuvers. Should've been a 1h weapon with shield or if they really wanted to go the 2h route model it after the lance instead.

Most weapons have aguments or passives that reduce cooldowns for various moves. If you uses those cooldowns skills and weapon swap, would allow for some very active skill rotations. How active will vary weapon to weapon.

Oh, and don't forget the system has light attack combos, heavy attack combos, and light into heavies laid on an active combat system that heavily awards dodging and positioning.
