Hi Kyle, the video was really very well and understandably explained! However, I have the problem that the nose of my paper plane always tears and so the paper plane flies worse. Would it help if I bought a heavier paper so that it doesn't tear?

Yup, that’s my nose lock design inspired by Toda (as all of us are) that I came up in 2012-2013. I also have a tail lock sequence in which coincidently Toda also recently demo-Ed on his KZbin channel that is extremely similar. You can see it in my Angel tutorial.

@6.15, that weird fold serves to separate the layers so that when you fold the wing , it will not try to distort beneath the wing
