Age is not an issue in the short-distance swimming like 50m. There are many swimmers who are over 30 or even over 40 but are still doing great by winning medals at the Olympics or World championship in 50m.

Age is not an issue for a single 50, so I'm not surprised she got the WR, but age does impact recovery time, so the fact she did 2 all time 50s back to back in this short time at that age is insane.

They are athlete influencers. Yes, they have biomechanical skills and athletic ability. However, they do not naturally tire when they naturally should.

Her Tokyo olympics were not that great because she broke her arm like 6 months before and she was out of the water for a month. She decided to focus on the 50 free for Tokyo and added the 100 fly fairly shortly before the games because she wanted to defend her title. The fact she went a 52 in the 1 free, made the final In the 100 fly and medalled in the 50 is extremely impressive considering she had 6 months prep time basically.
