Healer life staff paired with ice gauntlet in dungeons is really good. The ice gauntlet has an entombed ability that regenerates all your mana fast.

What kind of stat build did you use. Full focus?

@@thegamingcockatoo2113 I went full focus but also you'll want full heavy armor or else you'll get one shot. Granted I only got up to level 25 experimenting with that build but I tried light armor and heavy armor and the heavy armor works great. You dont need the dodge roll or the 20% increased damage that light armor provides to heal well.

No reason to use the entomb when you can easily get mana back from Potions/Food/Aura talent. With those, you're not going to have mana issues. And if you're healing through that so much you do need even more mana, switching to Ice Gauntlet and entombing for ten seconds means certain death to your group.

@@janus3555 Thanks, I'm sure you're right. I only did the first dungeon and used entombed there where I actually had time to use it and heal. I didnt even bother using mana pots. Question is what's a good secondary weapon/abilities to use with healing?

fire staff/life staff or ice guantlet/life staff for dps is amazing. ive been doing mostly pvp and a mage running those two weapons is a pain in the ass cause they can continuously heal and feel tankier than most tanks ive gone up against.

I used Rapier/Bow in the Beta. Both scale with dex so I just pumped all my points in there and occasionally in constitution for HP. Unfortunately bow felt very weak in PVP as it's hard to land shots on moving targets but it was great for PVE

How would a tank with a secondary life staff protection build work? Would it be bad?

if you are playing this game and choose to only use 1 weapon (as you recommend for the healers), then you are literally crippling yourself. a healer's ideal secondary weapon would be a CC one (for example ice gauntlet, spear, warhammer or great axe). that way, while you have your healing skills on cooldown you can apply CC on your enemies to decrease/delay the amount of damage received by your party. pretty basic.

The Ice Guanlet is the 2nd weapong for Life Staff users. Ice Block mana regen is the most useful ability for a healer.

From what's been hinted at they are making Healing Staff dependent meaning you won't want to switch. They are balancing that due to everyone using a life staff and switching to it quickly for ground heals. It was a major issue in PvP with the dozens of healing fields on the ground. The direction seems to be for Healers to heal, you're going to want to stay with the staff instead of using it as some swap-in/swap-out item. Also, you want to maintain your fortitude and use light attack to heal everyone in the Aegis range and heavy attack to cleanse debuffs in later dungeons as well as maintain your heavy attack chain to keep up the 30% +Healing buff so your heals are that much more potent.

Really nice video! I was shocked that you didn't mention the bow as ranged DPS, since is the weapon that can deal the most damage in the game (in dungeons), if you check videos of expeditions, you'll see most people are prioritizing bow as main dps instead of fire staff or musket. Anyways, keep up with the good content!

Ha just a heads up, you should always have a shield atleast equipped once you get green rarities. The bonus states add to you not to mention the armor rating and over all power rating.

Shield stats do not figure in to your characters total stats unless you have sword equipped...its simply adding dead weight if your not using sword. They are not stat sticks so to speak. I wish AGS would allow shield stats to add to your character...because its just an empty slot if you are not using a sword.

You only benefit from the stats on a shield if it's currently being used with a sword. As in, your sword and shield is currently slotted. Otherwise it adds to your armor value as it applies to whether you have the Light/Medium/Heavy bonuses, but none of the stats or AC (Armor Class or Armor) are used.

The combat isn't nearly as good i thought it would be.. The way people were talking... I expected a much better combat system. Japanese and Korean Devs are running circles around NA & EU Developers.. Combat systems worth playing. IMO..

I never really consider animations all that important. Basic animations are fine but it's not what I'm worried about. When animations are too flourished and abilities are too flashy, it gets to be jarring and looks like most of your 'all surface - no soul' MMORPGs. Abilities I agree with as that's the bread and butter along with having a realistic environment and the ability to interact with every bit of it.
