at 160w x 4 lights (640w)@24v your gonna draw 26.7amps. i bring this up because 10yrs ago we all wanted to "run silent". Back then it was common for guys to run 4,6,or more Deep cycle batteries to keep from running a generator. At 60-70lbs per battery; in a sport where extra weight can be dangerous we all had sketchy setups just to run 5-750w without noise. But now you can run Lithium witch can be run to dead safely and weigh very little. At the time of this comment a single 24v-200ah lifePO lithium weighs 53 lbs & cost roughly $1600 that should give a guy roughly 6hrs of 96k Lumens per charge, but only weigh about 100lbs. it would take about a $3k investment though witch is gonna be the deal breaker for most. But it would cost $0 to run. That same thoretical 4 light setup could be run on a budget 1400w predator($500) & be reasonably quiet (60db), consume 1-2gal of gas (for the same 6hrs), & still only weigh 150lbs. That setup would cost roughly $1500 & only cost about $12 a night to run. This type of setup would be premium for a small 1448-1860. Its nice to see technolgy finally taking off. Another 10years who knows where we'll be.

@@Th3mast3r69 Content & knowledge to create it isn't free🤷♂️ .We can kill fish by flashlights if we want but light output always trumps efficiency. There's guys still building HPS for a reason. Boat I'm building now has 6-400w HPS because "need" & "want" aren't the same discussion. I'm a pretty valuable resource if handled correctly. Last we spoke you had only a handful of working models (I think it was 2yrs ago) & I explained DC lights are expensive to maintain & heavy setups unless you're prepared to invest in lithium. (I still stand by that)However the number of boats willing to invest $5000 in a light setup are going to be very few. When most of us throw stuff away after 3-5yrs of service; shopping for new see a big step in technology each time & cost generally comes down. But 6-400w HPS is still king in many ways. @ 300k lumen will consume about 4gal of gas a night & my cost to build them was $2000. Genny, ballast, housings weigh approximately 200lbs. I'm giving up a lot of run cost, weight, & $ to have nearly 3x the light output of my last led setup that only cost $300. While some look only at fixture cost, output, run cost, dimensions, weight, or color, others will just say "screw it" and get whatever they have justified. The pros & cons to lighting will be discussed long after I'm gone but I'm not going waste any more time discussing it here.
