This truck is going to basically be my dream build. 68 stepside LS powered, on bags with patina. This build is gonna be epic and I will watch every second. Give us a little more to watch than we normally get. Lucky guy that gets to own this rig.

I have a 69 that exact same color I've owned since 1972 (as well as a blue 1972) that right now has over 250,000 miles I've logged all myself. I had the axles redrilled to 5 lug, and changed the front spindles to 1972 disc brakes. I really love being able to use original equipment / original equipment compatible parts. The 69 has a built 350, and the 72 (with just 105,000 miles) still has the original 350 from the factory. AND...Just for the Record...Those Door Panels are not only the "ORIGINAL" Door Panels, but the Original Color direct from the factory, whether you like it or not. Those Door Panels are worth their weight in gold, so before you trash them, please keep that in mind. (That comes from someone that has been blessed and fortunate enough to be on this great planet well over 3/4 of a Century.) While all I've said might not be of interest to those at Cory Wheat Customs, much less those that are of the "Slam Everything Into The Weeds" and patina rules crowd, I'm am a firm believer in when you have an Original Vehicle, "Keep As Much Original As Possible Whenever Possible." I'm extremely interested in following the LS6 conversion, since I've been thinking about that for the 69 (Still have the original engine, but being stranded 1,500 miles from home, I installed what was, at the time, called a Chevrolet "Target" Made In Mexico Engine with a cam change. That is the engine that is now built. Not about to mess with the "totally original," much less the "Totally Original 72!!!!" No Friggin' Way!!! I might have been raised a fool, but I'm not a Friggin' Idiot!!!! (Humor intended!!!) And "Neither One" has all the rot this one has. I mean, I took great care of them!!!!

I've built over a few dozen 67's-72's since the 1990's i usually saved the stepsides for my personal builds and the last few i did i liked the most was i did 1-peice windows in both doors and i shaved the drip rails and man o man what a difference it did to the looks i loved the way it looked

You two “kids” never cease to amaze! You are soon to be Famous! much more than you are. I repeat that you are both extremely talented. Be proud. Every week surpasses the last. The opening this week was so professional. Really great in the dark and all. Don’t get too professional or you will lose your charm. Won’t matter though, I will always watch. I predict an invite to SEMA for you soon.

Nice Start! We built a 1967 Step Side 6 Cyl. standard for my son in the late 1970's. The engine was bad, so we purchased a low mileage engine from a 1972 Impala. Coupled it to an automatic with a Floor Shift Kit. Painted Candy blue, with Turbo Mags, Custom Grille and Interior work. It was the most reliable vehicle with no issues until he traded it for an '82 Sonoma.

My first vehicle I ever had was a white 68 stepside. Wish I still had it! I was a sophomore in high. Had so much fun in that pickup! If it was mine I would just do a engine swap, with some nice wheels and tires. Would not worry about the paint. I've been thinking, I would like to find one. And this make me want it want it even more!
