really loving this podcast guys, including the humour/banter lol. only suggestion would be to release the episodes much closer to when they are recorded, especially if you guys are gonna be talking about current matches being played (like at the Aus Open). that'd be sick to hear you guys talk about matches like right after we have watched them
@elainepotgieter94034 сағат бұрын
I agree. Love this show but that was the only odd thing because they were talking about players still in certain tournaments when we know they are out already, lol

Let's go baby love this!!! Question for the podcast... if John Isner didnt have his massive serve, lets say he had an average serve - would have he been ranked in the top 1000?
@Deerjason4 күн бұрын
Average is very vague. If you mean an average pro level serve, then top 1000 is too easy, it should be top 300
@MrSeebass892 күн бұрын
I think this is a fun question to bring to the group! And thanks for doing that, but what’s I feel is a little tough and unfair to John is that he has both advantages and disadvantages to being so tall. The main advantage likely being the angle his serves created, so if he were shorter like 6’2” or something his serve wouldn’t have been so crazy, but he probably would’ve had an entirely different level of mobility and quickness, which could easily mean he still would’ve been a top guy. So it’s hard to know how good a 6’10 guy have been if he couldn’t use any of his advantages and only deal with the disadvantages that shorter guys don’t struggle with as much It would be interesting to know how good like Andy roddick would’ve been at 6’2” with an average serve

I went to Hong Kong every day this year. Really great. The pre-Aussie 250's have more top players than the other 250's and top singles players play the doubles as well! Reminded me of watching Sam and Isner play doubles in Shanghai together live! Keep up the good work!

Guys, I absolutely LOVE your podcast! With the AO coming up I’m again reminded of Medvedevs performance last year and I’m so suprised that no one talks about it more. He was taking the ball early, coming to the net and outplayed Sinner for 2 sets. Then he went back to his defensive style and lost. What’s your analysis of that?
@PepsBurner4 күн бұрын
He was definitely too gassed by that point. He spent 26 hours on court. Sinner adjusted as well with winners in the 3rd set which neutralized him. After that his legs gave out in my opinion. Just a lot of tennis
@OlaHeden3 күн бұрын
I agree he was tired but don’t you think that he would have saved energy by continuing to shorten the points by coming to the net more? My feeling is that he ”chickened out” and went back to his old patterns but I might be wrong.

Yeah Stevie is right he said if Korda was healthy he'd be top 15 ish and the fifth highest ranked American. If he doesn't play the whole year/is injured, there will be five Americans ahead of him (i.e., sixth). So if there's a healthy Korda, Stevie said there'd be 5 Americans in the top 15. #ListentoStevie

Gentlemen, I think you need to discuss the meteoric rise of 19 year old Nishesh Basavareddy. Maybe its me but he came out of nowhere. I know he was decent at Stanford, but he went 41-13 on the challenger tour and just lost to Monfils in the semis of Auckland. I think he was a little nervous and maybe has a bit of a head block with Monfils since he had just lost to him the prior week. He has a tough draw with Novak in the 1st round of the Aussie Open, but what do you think of his potential?
@xarilaos8884 күн бұрын
Sam messed up again. There are 28 players with winning record against Federer. 16 of them have an 1-0 record against him. And the 12 he mentioned have at least 2 wins and a winning record. He just didn't read the last part of the article I guess . I am pasting: "In case you were wondering, the 16 players with one win over Federer are Sergi Bruguera, Andrei Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jan Siemerink, Andrea Gaudenzi, Francisco Clavet, Byron Black, Pablo Andujar, Kenneth Carlsen, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Evgeny Donskoy, Markus Hantschk, Lucas Arnold Ker, James Sekulov and Christophe Van Garsse."

37:44 Stevie: "If Sam Korda is healthy the whole year, he's the fifth guy." John: "So if he is healthy all year-" Stevie: "Then I have him at 5." Then a minute later Stevie starts trying to gaslight them when he realize his take makes no sense lol.
