I bought a 2013 600rr on your advice for trackdays last year. It has been a brilliant little bike. The plan was to move up to a 765RS, late blade or S1000RR if I got the trackday bug again but I am not at the limit of the 600 and probably wont ever get there being old, fat and cowardly so it will do me for another year at least.

Thanks for the updates Dave. One thing about the attitude. When you're effectively a voluntary rider, I don't think you're anywhere near being able to justify the billy big balls stuff. That comes later when you've won races and championships at the highest level. Speaking from experience we wouldn't accept it in our F1 Team

Hi Dave. Happy New Year to you and the team. I had an idea that all was not well within the team, and Franco, which is a great shame, but at least you parted on talking terms. When you mapped out the costs of running a Superbike last year, I could see the pain in your face at just how much it had cost, and that was without taking into account any financial support that you gave to Franco. It certainly makes sense to go down a class, not only in terms of finance but also in fun. I've got both a 1000cc and 600cc, the 600 is a pure track bike, but it's so much fun and puts a smile on my face every time I get to ride it, which at the moment is nil 😢 I also used to ride, many years ago, my mate CBR600, and the liberties you could take with that was unreal, so I agree with you that the handling will be phenomenal in the hands of far better riders than I will ever be. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress, and I will keep a lookout for Franco's as well.

It is good that the team have a direction. Having the choice of running mid to back in BSB or possibly getting podiums and top tens in supersport the choice you made is a good one. The limiting of a bikes speed should be done on a rider or team basis not by manufacturer.

Great video Dave. Really interesting to learn more about the Supersport rules. What it would need in an ideal world is to have a top rider, say Jack Kennedy, who rides a different bike each week and they gauge the balancing of the bikes from his data and results. Not possible obviously but like you said if two riders on the same bike are winning there's a chance the bike gets knocked back a bit and that would also be to the detriment of lesser riders also riding a Honda. Hope Franco gets a decent ride, he certainly has the talent. It seemed like Honda were letting you groom him (in the nicest sense 🤣) to end up at Honda. Whether he's blown that chance I guess we'll see.

I'm glad your mentioned the ridiculousness of the spec ecu situation although briefly 😂 No reason why solo engineering have to be the only supplier. Should just be mectronik ecu and then everything else free to choose. Funny how they add the dash and loom in just to increase the cost where in wssp it's open.

Loom is open, but the dash adds a nice extra lump to the price, especially considering it's not a great dash!

The dash is utter useless, no better then the HM one that they offered to stock class due to a back hander. Most wssp teams just run I2M. Not sure why the dash couldn't be open, it adds no advantage at all

Why did Franco crash? With the rider telemetry data I thought we would have an answer by now. Didn't rider assistance make this crash unlikely? Instead Franco hits his head very hard and little is heard except that he is no longer with the team.

That’s why we don’t compete in BSB anymore…… too much conflict of interests in many areas to benefit everyone except the teams/riders. All this balancing rules and coops bawling his eyes out saying the Aprilia is too fast and wanting it turned down every time he gets beaten, its a bloody shit show, Should be bring what you’ve got like the Supertwins class up here, that’s why we chose that class, folk were moaning up here at an emergency meeting complaining that their new R7’s were being destroyed by the Aprilia…… well it’s not our fault that you bought a shit bike…. Go out and pay less for a better bike🤷🏽‍♂️ Glad we’re out the BSB paddock, just pissin money down the toilet for feck all. We won a prize of free entry to the BSB Sportbike Championship this year for winning all 4 championships in the Junior twins championship…… needless to say we won’t be using it
