I know I watched old news clips from Baltimore, MD news station from back in 1981 or 1982. One clip was a bad snow storm that messed up a Baltimore City Bus route because of ice on the roads. The reporter road along the route with the bus riders and interviewing them. It was so weird to see what the world looked like and how people dressed back then. The news report was a year or several months before I was born. I was born in 1982 in July.

“Ascent of Time” is the name of the music that plays before the ball drop starting at 1:09. I did some research a few weeks ago and contacted John’s Hopkins University Peabody Institute, where Ascent of Time was composed. I asked them if they could provide me a full quality recording of it. As a result, the university went into their archives where they had the recordings of it stored and they then uploaded the full quality version to their streaming website. You need permissions from the university to access it, but it is now there and preserved online. If you contact the university and inquire about it, they may give you permissions and you can listen to it. I’ve listened to the full quality version numerous times now and it is an absolutely amazing, breathtaking piece of music!
