I am very big on writing things out for the day or what I want to do. I’m very good about decluttering, but my husband just retired and is now decluttering all his suits and dress clothes that he’s not going to need anymore. Great motivation.

Happy New Year Robin! What a great first video! I'm all for the organizing and making lists! I like the idea of quarterly goals, or even monthly goals. It's easier to stick to it. I have two closets so I organise mine per season, Fall and Winter in one and Summer and Spring in the other. My husband doesn't get rid of anything, he even keeps t-shirts with holes in them saying they're perfect for when he is doing work around the house! 🙄We spent New Year's at our country home but today I'm back in the city getting ready for work. Happy New Year 🎉! We just stayed in & relaxed for new year's eve. It was a rainy drizzley night here in southern Ontario. There are a few new year's eve programming we enjoy watching - they didn't disappoint 😉 I have been regularly going through clothing & passing them on. I have so many areas that need declutttering. My aim is try to take an hour a day to tackle a small area & keep chipping away at it. Bonus, if l have more time in a day. Take care 😊

I am also a list maker. It is the absolute first thing to do, even if I know what I need to do. Sometimes I get it all done, most times, if I'm honest, I do not. You inspire me to want to go through my closet, even though I have purged a LOT of stuff already in 2024, because I lost 60 pounds last year. I am continuing my weight loss journey in 2025, I hope to lose another 40-50 pounds.

Hi Robin, happy new year to you and your beautiful family! I was doing so well getting things done then I got a sore throat, horrible head cold and just feeling lousy. I will continue when in feeling better. I'm also purging my clothing. Our Ladies Auxiliary to the First Aid in our town is having a clothing drive next week, perfect timing. I took down all of our Christmas decorations and organized everything. I only have our main tree up, hopefully I will feel better and take it down tomorrow or Monday (Epiphany, little Christmas). I don't do my closet by color either, dresses are in one part, slacks another, sweaters on shelves, blouses hung in another spot, similar to yours. I also have another dresser in my closet. I don't share my closet with my husband, we each have our own walk in closets, which I love. He's like Derek, saves way too many clothing items, omg he must have 50 t-shirts! You got so much done, great job! I'll be back at it once I feel better. Have a great weekend! ❤

I declutterd about two years ago using the Dana K White method. But, I need to declutter again myself, so it was nice to see you decluttering as it makes me want to do that also. Hey my friend we stayed home for new years, my daughter and her bf popped fireworks We had all the pups in their pen so no one ran off! My neighbors had a full display all night I can’t imagine how much they spent 😳 We cooked yesterday and had ham,cabbage,peas and cornbread it was so good! My oldest boys came in from their jobs for the next 5 days, I love it when all the kids are home!❤ tfs I need to clean up my messy closet and yes I’m sentimental as well! Happy New Year Robin! Our yellow lab hated fireworks & thunder, I always feel horrible for pets at this time of year & on the forth. We stay home on NYE & it is a welcome rest. We had family over on New Year day for our traditional sour kraut, pork and mashed potatoes. I completely get what you’re saying Robin, kids these days don’t really seem to be attached to those things we deem “sentimental”. 🤷🏻‍♀️I seem to be de cluttering always! Hey lady, I think for a change I actually caught your video on the day. It was posted! This was very motivating video for me. There are millions of things I need to do around my house. It’s just gonna have to be a little bit at a time though. I know one of the things you talked about was the empty nest, saving your kids stuff I think I’ve pretty much gave my kids all of their stuff for the most part one of the hardest things for me was they got a new Christmas ornament every Christmas growing up and that was one of my hardest things that I gave them, but that’s what it was for and I did give it to them several years ago and they do cherish them and put them on their trees now. no spend January. Let me tell you about that. Two years ago I stopped having my hair and my nails done to try to save money. I have got my hair cut I think and actually put a color on myself once but nothing fancy and all of last year I did not allow myself to buy any home decor except for Christmas And I tell you it didn’t help me out at all because the economy is so bad. I still didn’t save any money so this year I probably get my haircut and possibly colored or maybe color it myself and I did buy about six items of winter decor stuff when the Christmas stuff went on sale half price, I am gonna let myself buy probably five or six things each season and of course Christmas I’m always gonna let myself get new decor if I want it but I’m tired of depriving myself. It’s been two years so I’m not gonna go overboard but I am trying not to spend that money, I really truly enjoyed watching this video today. I hope you had a great new year. I had to work New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, but it wasn’t bad because I got to see all the fireworks while I was delivering.

I am very sentimental.....A couple years ago in January, i went thru all pictures...kept the ones I wanted....threw away those that I had no idea who they were (belonged to my mom and dad) And have a big tote of pictures for the girls to go thru!!!
