Hi Lisa- watching this video late sunday night. I watch the Lodge Guys and you every week. You always make me relax and love your cooking. Will definitely try the moroccan chicken. Thank you for your cosy , friendly videos.

Happy New Year. I moved into my new build in July 2023. It had been used as a view home so had benefited from gentle heating during the months it was unoccuped. I haven't had many cracks - 2 in ceilings which were rectified by the builder. In November of that year I had all the walls and ceilings painted brilliant white as I could no longer stand the almond white that had been used. The paintwork was in good condition and I'm glad to say gloss paint had not been used. I don't know about an inspection after a year but I have 2 years to get all of the snagging done. Cracks need to be the depth of a £1 coin for the builder to do remedial work, although they did sort out my 2 ceiling cracks which were just hairline. I have one thing outstanding which is being done on the 14th. I was told not to use limescale removal products in my 2 walk -in showers as the glass has been treated with an anti-limescale coating. I just use washing up liquid. In my previous home I used white vinegar. I make sure that around the chrome strips as you enter the showers and the chrome around the sliding doors are dry each time I use the showers. I dismantled Christmas on the 2nd January and had a bit of a move around for the New Year. I downsized after my partner died and vowed that I would keep things as minimal as possible. I had a large walk-in- pantry which I don't have here but I just don't need the amount of stuff that we used to have. Another cull of my wardrobe is beckoning. I want to sort out my garage and lay rubber matting in there over the coming weeks.

We spent most of yesterday de-Christmassing (as we're in a town-house we tend to decorate over 2 kevels) but at least we didn't have a MASSIVE tree to chop down 😊 But of course everything now looks so bare - so it's a good job we managed to find something from our local charity shop to fill the gap 😁 Have a great week 😊

Cut the blooms off the hyacinths and plant the bulbs in the garden three times the depth of the bulb. They won’t reflower until next year.

For lime scale try denture tablets dissolved in warm water, you can put it in a spray bottle for easy application

Hi Lisa, it's nice to takedown the decorations and give the house a good clean and get back to 'normal' again. Re: getting rid of dried flowers from your sister, we love our sister(s), but can't keep everything they give us, especially flowers, so, I take a photo of the item I'm getting rid of and I then have it forever! I can look at it anytime I want. I never make new year resolutions, I just live each day, week, month as it comes and hope its a good one without too much happening. Love your vlogs, love your cooking, just chill and don't get stressed. I worry about everything and everyone, but over the years, I've got slightly better at not worrying 😊. Take care and enjoy life. I'm 66 this year and recieve my state pension, which I'm so looking forward to 😅 sad I know but that extra cash will be very welcome for little holidays away here and there. Hubby is the same, so roll on September/October. Happy 2025, hope it brings you good health and fulfilment in what ever you do. Best wishes Susan. Xx❤

New build snagging will be fixed, but I've never heard of a yearly inspection! Usually you have a warranty period with the builder and they MAY fix anything but its at their descretion; after 2 years my developer didn't want to know. I was left with a swamp as a garden. They ignored me after that. You do have an NHBC warranty for 10 years from completion who can help with any structural problems, but not cosmetic. I was advised to leave it 2 years for settling before decorating, and its all good now!

I would highly recommend the Bower Collective Limescale remover especially as it’s natural but super effective. I live in a hard water area and it’s as good if not better than Viakal.

Great video Lisa thank you I’ve just (yesterday taken down my tree) I only decorate my living room/ dining room and a small amount in my kitchen and that seems a lot given I store it all in our attic and I’m old 😂 ( 72) which means going up/down 2 sets of stairs so it’s good to take my time, love your cooking videos thank you, please could you link your treadmill again, I always try and do over 10k steps a day but the weather here in Cumbria was against me today and only managed 8k which is where a treadmill would be beneficial I’ve been on the fence for a while but feel now is the time to bit the bullet and buy one, thanks in advance

I need to lose weight and do more exercise ! It’s sad when the decorations come down. I’m watching the Traitors too. Very addictive !

People have asked you where you got your long duster that you use for the stair banister, got 1 recently from either B and M or Home Bargains if that helps anyone

I keep meaning to ask how you dealt with the cluster flies? We had terrible issues with them in our house again this year and had to resort to the using the smoke bombs again. I think it’s just something we’ll always have to live with unfortunately.
