It creates a sense of “exclusivity” though. If every release was widely available sneakerheads wouldn’t be interested. Plus it means brands can maintain their high price point, scarcity can justify premium pricing. Same with Rolex for example. Ridiculous but Nike doesn’t really care as long as the money is coming in
