New York City Red Light District Walk at Night “Market of Sweethearts” Roosevelt Avenue Queens NYC (September 3, 2023)
Google Maps Link: goo.gl/maps/pdut5vttgLAnhYjy7
Roosevelt Avenue is main thoroughfares in the New York City boroughs of Queens. Roosevelt Avenue begins at 48th Street and Queens Boulevard in the neighborhood of Sunnyside. Roosevelt Avenue goes through Woodside, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Corona, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park (adjacent to Citi Field) and Flushing. In Flushing, Roosevelt Avenue ends at 156th Street and Northern Boulevard. Roosevelt Avenue is well known for its diversity of cultural representation, ranging from Indian to Latin American, while in the 2020s, Downtown Flushing is undergoing rapid gentrification by Chinese transnational entities. More than three hundred languages are spoken along the street, and the neighborhoods it passes through are described as the most ethnically diverse in the world. [Source: Wikipedia]

I have lived in New York my entire life and I am shocked and appalled that not one of my family members that live by Roosevelt Avenue has told me about this. All this time, while visiting family I could've been with hookers instead. This is a new low and I have to rectify this situation immediately.

As someone who lives in a small town in England and has never been to the states, let alone NYC, the scale is mind blowing. TV shows make it seem like friends are bumping into each other all the time, but it’s just so massive.

NYC is akin to numerous small towns within a metropolitan region. One can reside in a specific area without venturing beyond it, engaging in social or professional activities solely within that locality. Consequently, individuals are prone to encountering the same familiar faces engaged in similar pursuits. Those who are limited to a single facet of the city tend to form assumptions based on their own encounters. Although their experiences hold validity, they only represent a fraction of the entire landscape.

Yes and no. New York has a beating heart - midtown. Everybody goes there on a fairly regular basis, so it's a big common denominator for everyone. For those of us who live in the area and are there often, we bump into people we know all the time. It's like a small town.

I was there in the seventies and 80's. Roosevelt Avenue used to be dominated by stores. Corona had the greatest Italian American festivals, and Latin festivals. And the only smell was the food that was everywhere. Red light districts are known for one thing. It has no business being everywhere. China town, little Italy, Astoria with all the Greek food had reputations that made them a mecca. Once upon a time Queens was great.

Lmao you're cap 🧢 😂😂 I've spent MY WHOLE LIFE in that area of Queens and it's not VERY DANGEROUS 😂😂. Wtf is dangerous to you? Come down 10 minutes away to my neighborhood I was raised in and you'll see dangerous lol. There's crime here and there but it's definitely NOT DANGEROUS 😂😂 Stop the lies man. This one of the least dangerous places in Queens forget about NYC as a whole 😂😂
