Times Square is a place that goes from zero to a thousand. I accidentally got a little lost on my outing the first day and stumbled upon the outer edge of Times Square. I remember saying to myself, “Oh hey, that looks like Times Square… go the other direction immediately.” Ahaha. Y’all, I was dipping my toes in the first day. Walking around with no real purpose except to do exactly that.
The next day included Times Square and I dove right into the deep end. My jaw dropped about three thousand times just with basically everything. It is like Mardi Gras was put into a blender the size of a mall, and that blender shattered and turned into Times Square. It is so chaotic and so much of too much. I can see why people from NY hate it and why tourists love it. Super fun for a photographer, though! =D!!! I had more of an approach to get in, take photos and get the hell out in way under an hour.
My last morning after the Coldplay concert I had an hour to kill, so I headed to Times Square to walk through one more time. Now, this was a different vibe. It was about 8:30 am and let me tell you, it was quite something. You could feel the energy in the empty space and it was absolutely fantastic. (First photo)
I will be doing that again. =) There is something pretty surreal about being in an empty place where there are usually about ten billion people. The second photo was Friday mid afternoon.
