I'm curious. How does this madness take you away from the "madness that is our world "?

Loved it! But it was also frustrating because I have been working on most of the same themes, i.e. dealing with death from an early age up to burying my entire family, recently almost losing my husband to sepsis, and as a new senior citizen - my own future mortality, (verbal) abuse, communication through art and the study of languages, spirituality in a more esoteric belief system. But I have to remind myself that I'm just beginning on that path. I was too young and naive to understand I could have easily gone this path in 1981. And I get to try to handle the anger accumulated from all of this. Yep, keep creating and go for it! Maybe someday I'll make it to NYC and beyond.

What a day. Further Harry Potter moments with all those grand stairs… and the giant owl statue. Very striking. Thank you for taking us to the group show and the details of Rauschenberg on the upper east side. Take care.

You're wearing some color, some. I'll take it, maroon shirt and leather dress...one day you will surprise me when you wear something wild and colorful. Gray day in NYC you blended in with all that dark color, LOL...great vid as usual. Hey I rarely watch your work on my computer. Wanted to let you know your vid feed comes up on my TV now. So, not sure if you get credit for me watching. FYI. Rauschenberg is my fav artist. I have two of his prints. Acquired way back in the day. Great that you add vid accoutrements. hope you're making money putting these vids out.

So nice to see Chicago artist-and SAIC alum-Margot Bergman featured. Now in her eighth decade as an artist, she sites the influence of Bonnard in her work as well as Chicago's long-standing history of supporting outsider artists such as Henry Darger and Lee Godie.

Thank you as always for a walk through the galleries. Thank goodness for the Robert Rauschenberg works and the artists afterwards. Of course one feels sad for those artists with, loss, abuse and health issues. The question I always ask myself is, would I want this artwork in my house? And for those that like the work I wonder if they would enjoy living with it daily... It's a shame that the word beautiful in art has become passe and a negative in New York City's contemporary scene. Keep up the videos! Cheers -Greg

Interesting survey. I would have like to have seen some more of the thrift store paintings by Bergman. The basic portraits seemed a bit academic. I was thinking they might work better with a heavy impasto technique. The Houseago was pretty great. Simple materials but quite impactful. Rauschenberg is always a big fave of mine. Thanks, I think I may check these shows out tomorrow!

You have to wonder how some of this junk can make it into a NY gallery given the competitive nature of the place. Still, having an elegant and sophisticated guide makes the tour tolerable. Do you take in galleries outside NYC?

What gobbledygook...liberal-speak...worthless art...explanations of the art that defy common sense.
@renzo64903 ай бұрын
I had an idea of the type of work I would see in these galleries and I was not disappointed! Overwhelmingly ugly pieces. This is a low period in art. Art fairs all over the world are showing the same sad level of work...ugly, derivative, uninspired and devoid of artistic 'mastery'.
